I would be very surprised if Ford sends trucks without chips for Co-Pilot 360. That would be very stupid. My guess would be chips for Luxury Package ie: heated seats, heated steering wheel. Ford won’t risk safety for productivity, they would have massive law suits if there were accidents.
Did everyone miss the part about leaving out only "non safety" chips?

This, the automakers are building out highest profit margin vehicles first right now. When they run out of thoughs parts they will move down trims then suspend / reduce production. I can feel it.
Yeah...I saw a post a while back and it summarized the orders being filled with details on how many Lariats, lux package, etc. I then went back to a post showing the % of all orders broken down by trim level and options. The orders being filled included lariats and lux packages at 2x to 3x the number they should have been compared to the % of total vehicles ordered with these trim levels and options. So they are most definitely building the most expensive trucks first. And you really can't blame them for building the most profitable units over less profitable units.

Meh. I ordered an XL in January and got it in April. It was a minimum profit build.

If that is the case I should have received the Lariat lux by now (ordered 10/23/21).

It was never Mavericks that were potentially shipping without some chips. The press release was taken way out of context.

Ya. I thought this thread was a little over reacting.
I'm looking forward to getting my 2023 order in.

This will cause major problems for the service department. Many dealers are just learning to fix these new vehicles. I can just imagine the first service department that will install the new chips. Im sure you will get your truck back with grease on the floor mats, trim pieces that have clips broken, and hopefully the chips that are installed are updated and programmed properly.

There are threads about the thermostat knob missing the temp readout in new builds. Disappointing.

I could care less about that. Does the knob allow the temp to go from hot to cold? That's all that matters to me.

Seriously. The more electronics, the more stuff to break. Remember the old red/blue sliders in the 70s? They never broke! All the fancy electronic thermostats break easily!

*IF* it happens with Mavericks at all, it will be complete shipped modules that get swapped out. They are programmed at time of installation and it's usually easy to tell right away if they aren't right because when the tech runs a KOEO scan after PMI the module just won't report properly.

again, *IF*

sidenote; it's really weird to hear the word "chip" used so much in one place. it does an uncanny valley thing to my head.
