You should start a company making cast iron gas pedals.

Heavy Metal Petals.

"Real men of meddle insist on putting real metal pedals to the metal".

There are cars setting in the junk yard for 40 years and none of them have there brake or gas pedals rust away. Place an aluminum and composite bat in the sun and come back in 20 years and see which one you would want to use. Maybe the Maverick should have a plastic hood also. :)

I wonder if these would work. They would match the stock floor mats.

Depends on what kind of plastic it is. If it's the kind they use in F1 race cars or aircraft, I'd be fine with it. Reduced weight with no rust or corrosion issues? Sign me up.

Of course, it's a lot more expensive than aluminum or steel, which would mean that a Maverick would probably cost $50K for the base model.

Bronze is very durable too.

R&D will be crucial.
I must be getting old, Bronze is starting to work for me like this Lariat interior-

Maybe glue some rubber on the pedal. Start your own business making them and pedal your wares.
"Just have to figure out which rubber works best..."

These are the ones from Amazon. They fit well (kinda tough to get on, they're snug) and look pretty good. Not a bad upgrade for <$20
