This is the definition of a humble brag. Hahahaha. Lucky man. But I’m not terrible either, 2 times needed in 11 years.
I've had slow leaks in tires probably 5 times, but never needed a spare tire in the 18 years I've been driving.

Driving that Hybrid Hard and still darn good MPG. But it still makes me happy that I went with the 2.0 EB because I don't drive hard and 95% highway. So, if I can get 30 or right at it, I'll be happy. All in all though I think that Hybrid setup is going to make a lot of people happy with it's MPG.

Driven properly with a gentle foot, the hybrid will do better than 34 highway.
I'll tell u in November when I go to TN....if I can refrain from taking the 350

I'm pretty sure it will be areodynamocally limited and speed dependant. I also think that's why both trucks are much closer in mpg on the highway.

I'm a cruise control addict, so for me, lead-footedness is not as much a problem on the highway. I do expect much better gas mileage going 60 or even 50 vs 75mph, though.

I dont know. This thin has a LOOOONG gear ratio. I'll bet it's better at 70 then 50

It's my understanding that air resistance, therefore energy used, use logarithmic. Given the un areodyamic shape, I think it'll play a bigger role than other vehicles.

I believe any vehicle that's called a truck, hitting 30 mpg or better will be awesome!

I remember when I got my first Hybrid 9 years ago, how excited I was. 😆
Maybe if I didn't already own one now, I'd get the Maverick in this form.

Mpg on mine was much better back then, than it is now. It's ok, but the efficiency has degraded.
I used to get close to 600 miles to a tank. Now I'm lucky to get 500.

I've owned several other vehicles, non-hybrids during that time.
Each one put a smile on my face every time a put my foot down. Because it reminded me how much I enjoy that low end grunt from a turbo boosted engine.

If they could figure out how to give me that in a hybrid. I'd be set!😁

But until that day, I'll have to have one of each.

If my thinking is correct. The Maverick 2.0 should come close or match my old hybrid on the hwy mpg wise, but also be a much more fun vehicle to drive.
As my hybrid is more of an appliance.

Aero is some. Take my current dd, a near 8k pound no aero 350 monster. When new it got 14-15 on a good day. But with the mods done and the right tune I am now able to tick of 20+. It's better at 75 than at 60. With the longer gears of the Mav that will move the sweet spot for optimum mpgs to a higher speed. This truck is also not aero bad. Nice curves and a very small profile. It is more narrow than most full size sedans and not much longer. I think that is why the mpgs are through the roof.

Time and testing will tell. I don't think there are any cars that do better MPGs at 75 than 55.

Depends on what speed at some speeds a vortex cell can form in the bed which radically changes airflow and thus the Reynolds number. That’s why lowering your tailgate can sometimes reduce gas mileage, but in general, hard tonneaus do, soft are iffy

It's all in the tech and required fuel delivery. With this cars getting more powerful engines the fuel required to hit 70 plus is not as hard as it was in the past. In 1998 the rangers were considered a great fuel saver. Rated 27 mpgs. It weighed as almost the same as the Mav. It had around 110 horses and no fuel saving tech except your right foot. This new truck has almost double the power in hybrid form and half the power of the 2.0 and all fuel saving tech.
