Well, I suppose I should have asked about this here beforehand. I didn't even realize you could order directly online. Aren't there regulations requiring that sales go through local dealers?OP: You may find yourself in the predicament as many past 2022 buyers (perspective buyers) have been. They put deposits on trucks that the dealer hoped to get allocated. Nearly 100% sold have been on-line pre-orders. There is no reason at all to put a deposit down on a truck that can not be ordered right now and has no guarantee of being ordered even with a $500 deposit.
A lot of people on this forum were bamboozled by dumb dealers who are way behind the times.
Ford is moving to an on-line order world and you should too.
Alright, so based on what everyone is saying this may have been a very naive move on my part, but it's already done now, so what do you recommend? Should I just go straight back to the dealer and say I want my money back?yes you should be concerned. Maybe they are being honest…but on this forum you will find case after case of similar scenarios as yours for 2022 that end up with a)No Maverick ordered by dealer b)no refund of deposit
Unless I have a signed buyers order guaranteeing a price, options, etc. from dealer (signed by dealer and myself) - not putting anything down. My guess - purely a guess - is you are being played by a dealer.
