Walked by one in a parking lot today and it looks tiny. I am 6’2” and worried it will be like a clown car. However it could just be me😵💫. I am driving the same mid size SUV for 12 years for so it could be just an adjustment period 🤔

Any other tallish guys driving a Maverick?
I read the interior is like F150 should be ok

I'm currently driving a Honda Fit, so I'm sure it will feel enormous to me... (Although that Fit is surprisingly roomy for such a small car)

I'm only 6 feet even, but it's quite comfortable for me. In fact, most of the more recent cars I've had the driver seat was in the farthest back position, but in my Mav XL (just delivered last week) I ended up with the seat a notch forward of the farthest, and the steering wheel lowered and extended back toward me a bit. Head room is much more than the 2016 Fusion I was driving most recently, and I get in and out without risk of banging my head or knocking my cap off if I'm wearing one. Haven't measured, but I think the head room is greater than 4 inches for me. If you drive with the seat all the way back, probably more than that.

Before the Fusion was a 2006 Escape, and before that, a 1996 Jeep Cherokee, both with plenty of head space and leg room, if that helps. Of course, ideally you'll want to sit in one yourself, and more are appearing all the time now so perhaps ask your dealer to call when one comes in just so you can try sitting in it before they deliver.

Beyond that, I'm very satisfied with the XL hybrid. Adaptive cruise control would be nice, but even without it I'm getting better than EPA mileage.

We spotted a Maverick being delivered to a dealership and pulled in to look at it.

It was already sold, but they let us sit in it and check it out. My hubby is 6’3” and he had plenty of headroom.

What about adding a rear facing carseat to the back?

Sorry, the Escape was a 2007 model, I just bought it in 2006 as soon as they were out.

No kids here, so I only skimmed that part of the owner's manual, but I believe they recommended against using rear facing car seats. You can find and download the manual in PDF form at the Ford support web site.

My dog (80 lbs.) wears a car harness with a loop you pass the shoulder belt through, so he doesn't require a car seat. :D

6 ft+ buddy of mine sat in my Maverick and claimed he had more head room than in his Tundra.

He also adjusted the driver seat to his height, sat in the back and still fit.

There’s an older “Alex On Autos” video on youtube showing child seat installation in the Maverick. Quite detailed examination. Should be searchable…

I thought the same thing. Plenty of room inside. Seems bigger when you're driving. I'm 6', 220 lbs. My neighbor across the street bought one and when he drives by it looks small. As I said seems bigger when driving it.

My hubby is 6'4" barefoot, probably min. of 6'5" with his shoes on. Of course because he's so damn tall he has to put the seat all the way back & also tilt the steering wheel. Extra room! He's also a big man. Not only does he fit well (with at least 4" to spare before his head reaches headliner), only a recent 5-hr roundtrip ride he commented on how comfortable the seats feel on his back. He's not complaining about his legs hurting or feeling like he's in a tin can our last car. We bought the XL AWD. The ride is also very smooth, much more powerful than we even thought it would be and gas mileage is superb on the highway! Enjoy yours!

I haven't received mine yet and its hasn't been scheduled to be built yet but I haven't seen one in person for the longest time. When I first seen one on the road and a few afterwards, I thought it looked alot bigger then I thought.

How about tallish (5' 11") ladies?? I'm having no problems at all with space. Plenty of head and leg room! You should test drive one if you can find one, that is! Surprisingly roomy!

I’m 6’3” and an old guy (83) I not only find it roomy & comfortable to drive, it is easy for me to get in & out of. I recently did a 1200 mile round trip & didn’t even need to use 5hr ENERGY. Got 31.5 MPG, 2.0 with AWD.
