So I know its wishful thinking but I know its possible since I've seen a fair few people on here finding Mavs in the wild. I must have called dozens of dealerships in the Central Texas and North Texas area (im located in San Antonio)- even down in the RGV. I either get a dismissive "No we don't have any", or I get someone really helpful that is willing to put me on a list of interested maverick customers. I must be on atleast a dozen lists by now but considering just how quickly these move (every sales person has told me that they are usually gone within hours of being available), just how the heck are you supposed to be in the right place at the right time unless you're calling these dealerships daily? Anyone with any tips?

I currently have a deposit down on a stock unit that a dealership ordered, however, I dont have high hopes that that unit is actually going to get produced (its got a priority code 40). So I have that deposit down JUST IN CASE, but in the meantime I'm looking. Also I dont want to comepletely give up on that deposit because it seems to be the only dealership around that advertises that they do ZERO markups on MSRP

Beware that "zero markups" does not mean zero required add-ons. Just encountered that with a dealership in IL who advertises they don't sell over MSRP. So you may find that it is essentially marked up anyway.

Unless you are willing to grossly overpay for a Maverick (which I do not recommend), you will need to order in August.

Trust me on this. I've now owned an XL EB. These are great vehicles, but they are not worth a price premium.

Oh this is exactly why I signed the finance sheet or whatever its called (even though I will not be financing it)-its got the MSRP, Doc fee, TTL totaled out and I asked for a copy for myself.

Devil is always in the details. Mullinax Ford advertises “no added dealer fees” but yet they do throw on market adjustments above MSRP.

Reality seems to be that finding any Mavericks in the wild at a dealer is a near crap shoot, and the ones that do exist are massively marked up. Same for many other popular vehicles right now, not just the Maverick or Ford vehicles.

I just bought a new 2022 Ranger XLT Sport from Mullinax Ford New Symnra FL at MSRP -$1250 private offer. Came in as I was in the process of reserving this in-transit unit so Mullinax sold as an ordered (at MSRP) instead of inventoried which normally carries a $2000 markup. No add ONS or fees. Just tax and actual registration, no inflated electronic filing fee most dealers charge ($400 range) not dealer fee. Order and you just pay MSRP or less depending on model.
Highly recommend if in Florida.

Just wait a couple of months, order what you want, then wait…. They are NOT worth the gouging prices they are asking. If you can wait it out, do so.

Until supply meets demand, the Maverick will continue to be a premium sought after vehicle. Eventually the mystique will wear off slowing down the craziness.

Also the Maverick is not touted as being the ultimate of the trucking world. But instead as one of the best values, dollar for dollar. Which it does very well.
