Its criminal if anyone orders a Mav with no hitch for $100 !

We have one with no hitch......................................

Thanks for the info!
Agreed, why anyone would order a truck then not option a hitch is beyond me. Even if you didn't go all in with the AWD and the tow package for gods sakes add the hitch!!

You can't even really blame it on price because like you mentioned the factory hitch is only a $100 option. For $100 it adds so much more flexibility.

You all are hilarious with this. Again, I didn’t order it this way. And also, it was another projected 8 month wait to get one with a hitch. The one I ordered (I will get eventually has a hitch… I ordered July of last year). At least this one is AWD.

I wonder why they elected to use 7/8" worth of spacers on the drivers-side, rather than just bring the sideplate/flange to the correct level?

Probably because the side plate is already made for use in another vehicle. BS possibly.

Since my BS has one. Waiting for hitch receiver is no big deal.

Relax bro my post wasn't specifically aimed at you. It was more of a generalized post about how it's silly to order a Mav without the hitch especially when you factor in the cost of OEM vs. aftermarket.

I’m relaxed. But one of the biggest delays on the Mav is now the hitch and bed liner option. If you remove them, chances of being sped up are likely. However, if you can wait then people should wait sure. But, I will just buy the other mav too and be happy with both.

Just curious, who is saying that the Hitch for $100 is now a problem? You would think if it was Ford would be raising the price dramatically, $100 is a joke....................................

One of our XL's came without a hitch so no choice.

The inventory of them is the problem according to ford. Just as bedliners. Opting out means truck can be here much faster. That’s why trying to order an OEM one is currently indefinitely back ordered, with no ETA on inventory.

Interesting in that it doesn't use the hitch cutout area that the normal Ford hitch does. It hangs below it.

I cannot like this design with it hanging below the bumper. I will make my own before using that poor design. Weld on a $50 receiver for 2.00'' wide channel onto the original crash bar and add the Curt harness for a BS and you are good to go. As close to OEM as it gets and potentially better than OEM.

Did you ever upload pics of it? I saw someone was going to do that but they never followed up so I didn’t know if it fit. All I saw was that online they said they didn’t fit.

I did get this mounted. I modified to fit U bolts and opening. To fit opening I cut off side plates flush with the body of the hitch.

After mounting a step bumper hitch, I think a receiver tube mounted with a single U bolt would work for a 2000 lb hitch. Safety hooks would need a place to attach to the truck. That should be straight forward.

3 months ago I thought I added the hitch. When it finally went into production It wasn't on the window sticker. I was bummed. My dealer manager apologized and said it was his fault, but wasn't sure how it wasn't added. I saw him place the change order on a small stack of change orders that was supposed to happen that day. I should have followed up.
