If you are going by rail, it’s more complicated…

First you will need the rail car letters and numbers. It is on the visibility report or DORA which is from the dealership. You MAY be able to get it from the SVT people but they seem often in a cranky mood and may tell you to get it from the dealer.

There are two major rail companies.

CSX is everything east of the mississippi
UP is everything west of the mississippi

But they all start out on CSX so once they have it in their system they will follow it all the way.

So, how do you track your truck on a railcar?

First and most important. Never talk to live personnel at the railroad! Only use automated phone system. If it attempts to transfer you to a live person please hang up. The railcar information we are provided by is given as a courtesy and if we call live personnel we may lose the access and ability to track.

CSX
1. Call the CSX 1-800-235-2352
2. When prompted for location or weight, press "1" on your phone for location.
3. When prompted for the car initials, say CN (or whatever initials you have) then wait for the next prompt.
4. When prompted for the car number, say 907048 (or whatever your number is)
5. When prompted for next car say DONE.
6. That's it; enjoy your updated status report.

Union Pacific
1. Call UP at 1 800 877-5123 1 800 877-5123
2. Follow phone prompts for Trace
3. Say the railcar number complete and clearly. Example CN123456 all together
4. Listen for your update

NS Norfolk Southern
1. Call 800-635-5768
2. Press 2.
3. Press 2.
4. Enter the letters on the numeric keypad then press #. As in: TTGX will be 8849
5. Enter the numbers then press #. It wasn't taking my voice prompts but typing worked.

Probably means bubkus but the LFD called me yesterday and said Ford had informed them that the delay on mine was that spray-in bedliners were going to be moved to the next model year. he suggested cancelling my bed liner line item and getting it locally- a no brainer IMO but he felt required to ask.

So I'm back to waiting, though at least with a glimmer of hope that I might get it this year.

Hey, what were those short cords that you plugged into your usb port and then plugged the other end into the slot right above that slot? What were they used for?

I got through but this is what I am seeing:

It has my VIN #correct (I just X'ed it out). Is anyone getting additional info? Or would you guess, like we are guessing that it is just sitting at the rail yard in Kansas City. We have learned from the Ford.com customer service the same info with a bit more info, "On March 17th it was received at Ramp 6P, Kansas City Mc, MO". Frustrating, we live less than 300 miles from Kansas City, and our truck has been sitting there for a month apparently.

I'm getting the same thing on my side with that link - only difference is the origin showing Tampa. I know mine was shipped from the CSX phone #/tracking

Rail info prob won't show there, it's only reporting the trucking portion, your Mav is going rail to Kansas City (Origin) and when it arrives there the destination name should change to your dealer's name. Kansas City it will be unloaded from the rail car and then shipped by truck to your dealer. This is why it says pending.

Tracking is a ship show......don't expect too much and sitting at the ramp for a month isn't uncommon, there's a trucker shortage, why do you think Walmart is paying 100k plus for truckers? I imagine it's only going to make things worse as drivers jump ship from the smaller companies to go work for wallyworld. My mav sat in Chicago for 2 weeks and then sat at the rail yard for over two weeks. It is what it is

Mine is showing the same thing, and has been in Kansas City since early last week. Ford chat did confirm that it was sitting in Kansas City with the status of "Delay- Convoy Carrier". They mentioned that this means it is impacted by carrier equipment failure, off loading delays, yard congestion, or diversion in Kansas City Mc, MO.

My original delivery window was 4/13 - 4/19, and they gave me an updated estimate that it will arrive at the dealer on 4/24. We will see.....the wait continues!
