Hey y’all,

I’ve seen this “discussed” a few times here but couldn’t find a definitive answer.

I’m interested in getting 16” stealies (probably from the bronco) and then powder coating them black. Since it’s built on the bronco platform will they fit? Idk if the brakes are the same size as the bronco? Probably won’t get my truck till may/June but wanting to slowly buy my accessories while I wait.

has anyone done 16” rims and what is the largest tire size that can run on 16’s.

Maverick is built on the same platform as the bronco sport, not the bronco. Bronco wheels aren't interchangeable with Maverick. Ford doesn't offer the bronco sport with wheels smaller than 17".

Your right, I definitely meant Bronco Sport. And to clarify. 16” wheels didn’t come on the bronco sport but they can FIT on the Bronco sport. Been lurking on a bronco forum…

I’m basically trying to see if I can get more sidewall

Some Bronco Sport owners are running 16" wheels but I don't believe any Maverick owners have tried it, not sure if they share the same exact brake hardware considering the higher tow ratings of the Maverick, Ford may have fitted larger rotors and calipers to the Maverick compared to the Bronco Sport. I'd look at Ford parts catalog but that's an exercise in frustration as it's one of the worst OEM parts catalogs that I have ever seen by far.

I would be somewhat surprised if the calipers/ rotors were different than the bronco sport, coming from the same assembly plant - so if that is confirmed we can just find out exact which brand of 16s work (as different rims have slightly different shapes to clear the calipers inside, aside from just their diameter).

How much more sidewall could you possibly want? Here is a 245 65 17.

Bronco has a six lug pattern and a maverick has five. Will not FIT.

FYI I've confirmed that that Maverick uses a larger diameter brake rotor than the Bronco Sport and 16" wheels will not fit unfortunately. Both models use the same caliper, it's just the rotor size that differs.

Bummer. 16s would have really opened up some tire options.
