nothing screams hi performance about that mule. I wouldn't get my hopes up about anything more than an appearance package with flares and a different color with graphics. Rear cutouts could be for steps that people keep saying are needed to access bed with tailgate closed. Intercooler upgrade? Good idea- especially for FWD towing upgrade since they don't offer 4k package for FWD.

Performance Variant???

This truck is obviously electric. That's NOT an intercooler...just a small radiator in front of what is obviously insulation. Wheel covers to simulate full face wheels to improve aero and lowered ride height to improve range. There's a charge port directly behind the fuel filler. The holes in the rear bumper are just there to distract from the lack of an exhaust pipe.

THIS IS THE ELECTRIC MAVERICK.

I know. Just don’t get that many chances to throw cars and baking together. Well, except for the Chevy Bolt.

That's nifty and all, but I dread when they start emailing out the announcements to people still waiting on their 22's. Lol Happened to my friend who ordered a Bronco, he was still waiting on that and they emailed about the Bronco Raptor.. 🤦‍♀️
Oh wow that would be a real kick in the rear! I still get Ford email every Thursday about the F150 Lightning! Like I would want to wait years for a truck that's all full of tech requiring thousands of chips Ford is already struggling to obtain! No thanks!

Ford needs to Focus, Focus, Focus not the car silly just Focus on building out these trucks for the next couple of years. We do not need variants to mess up the the ability to increase production. Stock price should be in Focus. Then a cheap EV for 30K.

How does anyone know that this is a ST version based on these photos? Also, why the closeup shots of bumpers and the undercarriage of another Maverick?

Could they only get 'long lens' shots of the red Mav but somehow Ford gave them access to a lift to take photos of a gold one?

Maybe I'm missing something. . . . .

Good luck to everyone still waiting. . . including me.:)

Those undercarriage and upclose shots are of the current trucks. I agree it was slightly confusing.

I also agree that thinking this is an ST based on these photos is far fetched. I'll even say it is flat out wrong. This is not an ST.
