I'm going to have to get me a 3D printer someday. I'm still doing it old school with templates and patterns.

I am going to give this a shot as well.

First time messing with STL files and 3D printers.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this was better than mine! Upload pics once you get it printed, please.

I went looking for the mount points BootXL76 mentioned when he mounted his LC2i Pro behind the glovebox. I think I found the location and I decided to measure and mock up a foamboard replica of the Key 200.4 in order to get everything to fit just right. Some of you may be able to work out of your head and just eyeball and and craft something elegant up, but I have to put some effort in to it, otherwise I would have a rattling box in my dash and my glovebox wouldn't close.

I took some measurements, held the foam "Key" up and starting drawing some parts and fitting, modifying, and revising. Took about three tries on the bracket mockup:

1-CAD.JPG

1. Several revisions and changes

2-Foam Mock.JPG

2. Foamboard mock-ups of bracket and Key 200.4

3-Mockup in Truck.JPG

3. Foamboard bracket fit to existing bolts

4-Mockup in Truck.JPG

4. Kicker Key 200.4 mockup pinned to bracket and glovebox door test fit for clearance

5-Template Routed.JPG

5. Once satisfied with the fit, I cut a template from MDF and pattern-routed 1/8" ABS

6.Bracket.jpg

6. Clamped straight-edges top and bottom and heated ABS, bending it at a right-angle.

7.Bracket-Key2.jpg

7. Bracket is a great fit for the Kicker Key 200.4

8.Bracket-LC2i.jpg

8. Bracket also will accommodate the AudioControl LC2i Pro

Attached is a .PDF for the flat-pattern template for the bracket. It can be printed (make sure PDF is printed actual size and not scaled to fit) and adhered directly to ABS and cut or used to make a template.

Print Settings.JPG

9. If printing full-scale template, ensure Actual Size is selected.

ABS edges are smoother if routed, but sawing is fine as this bracket will likely not be visible much.

I hope this saves someone some time. I certainly appreciate all of the advice and ideas I got from those of you that trail-blazed the audio on this vehicle.
Crazy cool. I may not ever own a Mav but it's good to know that folks like you have the drive to figure out techy things. Thanks

Same here. I been using a local metal place to waterjet stuff and the occasional Plastic stuff but the 3d printer stuff is so affordable to get into. Wish it did metal.

I have been having issues figuring out my 3d printer and it's settings. Lmao. I enlisted the help of my in-laws to print it for me until I figure out this machine.

Here is the file if anybody want's to give it a shot.

Awesome! Definitely looks to be an upgrade. Mine is in and perfectly functional, but yours looks refined and marketable.
You know what's funny, that's exactly what I thought about yours. I did some stress testing on the other design and found that this was significantly stronger than the blue one. Yours won't have any problems with stress fractures, it's smaller, and it looks better.

May I request one of these brackets to also mount up a key200.4 ? Will any of you do an etsy/ebay or something along those lines ?

I have amp power wiring coming and i was just going to do a sub/amp to go with my upgraded speakers all around (i ran leads down from the rears to behind the seat when i replaced the 4" on both sides) my amp has high level inputs (later model kicker zx750.1 with Input sensitivity: Low level: 125mV-5V High level: 250mV-10V)

but if you guys think the 200.4 with dsp would make a drastic difference, then i'd do that as well as a loopback harness to feed the key then back to all the speakers, and have rca's come off for the sub amp low level input versus the high level leads i already ran...

I believe that jbandc122 and/or Gilbillygucci put put an .STL file up on Thingaverse that can be 3D printed locally and save some shipping cost. If those options don't work for you, PM me. I think I may have enough ABS sheet to do a folded one. This issue is shipping cost. I noticed the pre-paid USPS Priority Boxes are stupid expensive now.

Dimensionally and weight-wise should fit USPS First Class Parcel which is usually pretty affordable.

Same as Red Ryder, if you want one I can send it out if you cover shipping. Not trying to make any money on these, just want to help the Mav community out.

I just did this. Just cut some abs with a jigsaw and bent it with a heat gun. It came out ugly but it is hidden. My lord did the kicker key completely change the audio in this truck. I bought a hideaway and some focal fronts but I don't even know if I needed them after this upgrade. Thanks for all the help!

How far forward can one go before the glove box doesn't close? Would the lc7i fit in there?
Did the lc7i end up fitting? I’m going to try to make a bracket like this for my lc6i.
