My experience with ride difference between an XL and XLT

There is no "adjustable lumbar support" in the XLT.

I have the lux pkg, and there is because I use it.

I have Continentals on my Xl and the ride is exactly the same as the XLT i test drove.

My XL had Pirelli tires.

I could be wrong, but I believe the XLT with the lux has a noise dampening windshield. Therein may lie the difference.

NO it does not only the LARIAT has this feature!

Yeah, FX4 gets the pirelli scorpion tires 225/65r17, XL and XLT non FX4 get the Continentals and Lariat trims get the Michelin Primacy (18 inch). I'm willing to bet my lunch money that he did not get factory pirellis on an XL

Then the "different covers" are more than just covers as sitting in the XL is firmer vs the XLT which is more cushiony.

Many professional reviews mention that the seats in XLT are much more comfortable than the XL.

This is the first mention of seat differences that I’ve seen. Can you provide a link to one of these many reviews that mention this phenomenon?

Those were on it when I bought it from a dealer that was selling it after a customer canceled his order.

Show me proof otherwise that you can get a non-fleet ordered XL from the factory with Pirellis in the USA......then we can talk about payment, I say non-fleet because we're comparing the ride between an XL and an XLT and both (customer orders) with the standard 17" wheels are equipped with the same exact Continental tires. Yes, there are some fleet ordered Mavericks which were available with different options floating around there that were turned down by the original entity that ordered them but the fleet Maverick isn't designed with ride quality in mind so comparing them is ridiculous. Saying his XLT rides better than an XL all things equal is also ridiculous.

Hey man, I believe you. If you owned an XL for a while and now have an XLT, you will notice any differences more than the know-it-alls on this forum that have jumped between the two on a quick test drive.

And don’t bother commenting to those on here who claim to know what tires your XL came with. Ford could have very well been using two suppliers at the time. You know what your truck had. People are stupid.

are you sure about that? you'd be the first I've seen to not have the same continental that comes standard on everything with 17" wheels with the exception of the FX4 package and the special AT wheels and tires. Even tirerack lists the continentals as OE tires for the Maverick XL in either ecoboost or hybrid variant

yes, like I said, the continentals come with everything that has STANDARD 17" wheels. Your Lariat non lux comes standard with 18" wheels which have Michelin Primacy tires. All Lariats, regardless of lux or not come from the factory with 18" wheels standard which have Michelin tires. I believe this is negated if you get the FX4 package which bumps you down to 17" wheels and tires with the pirelli scorpions and if you opt for the $700 wheel package even with Lariat you'll get the 17" wheels with Falken Wildpeaks. So what you're saying jives with my claim

Ha, people are stupid? Look Charlie Brown, if you go to the Ford parts site and look up the part numbers between an XL and and XLT you'll find that the: shocks and springs are the same (respective between hybrid and ecoboost), the seat cushions are the same, the tires on standard 17" wheels are the same (No genius, Ford is not putting random tires on their Mavericks from the factory, tire manufacturers go to great lengths to secure contracts to be OE equipment on vehicles), the only difference is the seat cover which, fine, if you believe that plays a significant part in comfort, I have a bridge to sell you too, it's probably more comfortable than the bridge you currently have. Also, I have read and watched a ton of reviews and not a single reviewer has mentioned anything about a difference in ride quality between trim levels. They've even gone as far as to say that the Lariat's acoustic windshield didn't make any perceivable difference to interior noise.

This sounds a whole lot like credulity to me......
