On that note, they did a video on coax under $99 (also I had the name wrong, it’s breakers stereo and performance)

Just listened to the above video and it certainly explains why I like the JBL bright sounds and without much loss of bass. I was looking at the JBL Club 622 tested here. I'll view some of their other videos...nothing like real numbers for real comparison. Thanks again.

The Kickers require an amp to bring out the full range of sound. I run the QS series in everything, but my Maverick.

I went to put in my rear speakers tonight and discovered I have a different plug? I ordered the 72-5600 based on this thread but the pins on my harness are smaller.

Any idea what adapter this is?

Is the white connector from the factory harness? And it has 3 slots? Ideally, is the white connector supposed to fit into the black Metra connector?

Yes it’s the factory connector. People have gotten it to fit, but I wasn’t willing to push that hard. I just cut off the factory connector and put on spade terminals.

Is it obvious on the factory connector/speaker which is positive and which is negative?

Also, were you able to remove the white panel speaker covers without breaking the upper tabs?

I found the wiring somewhere in this thread. Do a sound test before buttoning it up just to check.

The top tabs are tough. You have to lift then pull out. I used a long flat head screwdriver wrapped in electrical tape to help manipulate tabs.

The rear speaker do not have a common ground. They are wired the same as the bronco sport in the attached picture.

Can anyone confirm if the rear speakers wire colors shown above for the Bronco are the same for the Maverick?

There’s a link on page 13/14 for a bronco speaker harness. It’s the proper one for the harness.

Looked, but couldn't find the link you are referring to, do you have the post#?

Thanks.

Just to confirm, this Bronco adapter will work with the rear speaker leads, right?

correct, they’re the same plugs (this one will actually clip in where the 5600/5601 won’t)

(these were made by someone on the bronco forums, as they were having the same thing where some people could get the 5600 to work and some said it wouldn’t fit (which comes back to where I didn’t think they worked at first and then went back to them and used a little more force to get them to push in)

Thanks for the links, much appreciated. I think I'll go with the Bronco harness.

So, has anyone figured out the purpose for the capacitor on the rear factory speakers? To limit frequency?

It’s essentially a bass blocker…. Resistors in line and then a cap on the actual speaker to cut off frequencies below what I assume to be somewhere in the 600-800hz range
