With only this budget, what is your PURCHASE? You will drive this vehicle about 85 miles per day with 60high/40 city. 20mpg is the only requirement.

02 through 06 Toyota Camry 4 cyl auto with less than 200k. Way less than 6k, 30 mpg, and reliable as a rock.

I have also seen 02-05 V6 Camry and Avalons in this price range with 130k miles.

I did a quick search on autotrader with your criteria and found a clean (as far as I can see) 2011 Camry with just under 140,000 miles for $7700. Have you tried doing that or just getting advice? Either way I hope you find something reliable.

Easy-peasy. Go into Autotrader, advanced search, plug in your criteria (your zip, how many miles out you want to search, min/max price, etc). For my area (zip 70433), going out 500 miles, $6k min/$8k max, used, over 1400 possibilities. Have fun.

Any 2002 and newer Corolla with an Automatic transmission. You can get one under 6k. I've owned both an automatic and manual corolla and for some reason, Corollas have the worst manual transmission I've ever drove. The clutches are super slippery and you end up burning them every 60k miles.

They are literally the best cars in my opinion. Replacement parts are ridiculously cheap and even their starters/alternators make it past 220k miles.

If you want something a bit more luxurious and a little faster, any 05-08 BMW 325i, 328i, 330i. They don't really have any major problems and almost anything that goes out on the E90 model is driveway DIY-able.

I would have cut you a deal on the rock solid 2012 Fit with only 100k miles I traded in. The dealer gave me 7k. There are private sellers out there selling good Fits in that range all day.

Yes, I am also scanning Autotrader,Cars, and a few other online websites. Just wanted members feedback and to see what is out there. I drive daily, and wanted another vehicle as my “work vehicle” and not have that mileage on my incoming Maverick.

I have an '09 Hyundai accent hatch with ~200k miles on it currently sitting in my garage. We gave it to my FIL 6yrs ago because it wasn't worth the hassle to try to sell it. He put another 100k+ miles on it and now KBB says it is worth twice what it was then (~$4200). FIL just inherited his late father's late-model, super low mile Chrysler, so we're storing the Hyundai until he decides what to do with it.

I swear that car will outlive us all; zero non-maintenance repairs to date.

You bought a Maverick and are now buying a car to not drive the Maverick? Just enjoy your Maverick. Cars are meant to be driven and sitting does them no good.

Would you buy a huge TV and then buy a small one to watch to not wear it out? Would you buy a nice couch and then an uncomfortable one to sit on to avoid wear?

It's a depreciating asset. Don't bubble wrap it, drive it.

This is will be my 2nd Maverick. My currently daily driver is a Maverick and I have 8k miles since Nov 1.

I am planning to sell it, when my original order is delivered. Considering using those “extra funds” towards a work vehicle. I am an independent contractor, and some things we can deduct for next year.
