Dealership Problem and Funny Business

Man I don't know how some people can just walk away from stuff like this. If my order that I've been waiting on for 9 months was just given away without a word, I would be absolutely destroying them on every review site that I could find while issuing complaints to the BBB and to Ford corporate. By just walking away with zero consequences to the dealership, you are letting them think that they can get away with screwing over other buyers. If not for you, please do something for other future customers by reporting this behavior.

I'm not confrontational by nature but this scenario would release my inner Karen (Ken?). I'd go scorched earth on this dealership if I found out they sold my retail order out from under me. But OP doesn't have concrete proof. Just hunches and insinuations.

Ray was a car sales manager for 40 years. In one of his videos he talks about this exact situation where one of his salesman sold a car that another customer had factory ordered, with a deposit.

Ultimately, the customer sued and was awarded a free vehicle. What happened here may very well be illegal.

Personally, I would put the time into it and not let this go, but I understand alot if folks don't want the hassel. It's why some of these dealerships often get away with this type of stuff.

Update. I gave up on this dealership and my Maverick. They kept telling me they will have an update tomorrow every time I called or showed up. I am pretty sure they just sold it to someone else when it arrived on the lot and will not admit it.
The dealership offered me a different car or to place another Maverick order, which signals a red flag that they were not being truthful.

I needed a new car so I purchased something else. Just could not wait anymore. Maverick was not meant for me I guess.

I got the Ford Customer Relations number from Ford Marketing. So I will submit a complaint there about this dealership.

Do not buy from Corwin Ford in Reno folks.

I remember Jones West Ford (before it was taken over by Corwin) had a bad reputation, but I don't know if they pulled this kind of crap... I'd give money your truck was sold to one of the owners family members or buddies.... Worms..

Exactly this ^. If I'm walking away based on principles, then I'm also holding this dealership accountable to obide by their so called business values that they no doubt highlight in their advertisements. I'm sorry OP appears to have been screwed over, but I think he should have done more before letting the dealer off the hook up. I'd say we should bombard the dealer with bad reviews, but there isn't enough here to substantiate OP's story.
