I had placed my first Maverick hybrid XLT order October 21, 2021. It went unfulfilled.

Using the same name, phone number, address, and email, I had placed my second Maverick hybrid XLT order September 19, 2022.

Theoretically, I should be eligible for some $2,750 private offer from Ford, I suppose. This offer would be displayed on the smart vincent report.

My 2023 MY truck entered production status yesterday. I called the dealership with the VIN, and they said they cannot run the report until the vehicle has been invoiced to the dealership by Ford.

At what stage does that typically happen?

Call Ford's Marketing and ask them about your transitional private offer for your year 2022 -> 2023. They should be able to provide you with the certificate #.

When dealing with car salespeople and dealerships, never suppose or hope they'll do anything right.

Make sure the Order Codes are the same on both orders. If not, you will not qualify for the Private Offer. The dealership can supply this info if you ask. Then, call Ford and verify that you do qualify for Private Offer.

To answer this question specifically, most manufacturers invoice upon shipment.

Not true.

I have both my DORA orders in front of me. Different Order codes. My dealer had zero problem getting me the private offer. I had even changed from an XLT to a Lariat...still a Hybrid.

Tim Bartz at Long McArthur has a good video on this. Or google "Ford smart vincent". My understanding is the dealer can't see your private offer and price protection [if any] on Smart VINCENT until the vehicle is in their inventory with the VIN.. So what they told you is almost correct, they can run the report but it won't show the information you seek at this point in time.

Today I called the customer service team and provided my sales and order codes. The rep on the phone said he did not see any discounts on my account, and advised me to contact my dealership.

So the dealership says they can't see one, and Ford says they can't see one. Who do I contact to straighten it out?

Did you make sure you got the COVP on the original order? If not, the offer will not show. Also, its possible they got the address wrong on the certificate and is why it didn't show up. That happened on one of mine but luckily I had used a different email address and they were able to find that the zip code was put in wrong. I got the certificate number but never used that one at the dealer to see if it worked or not. Supposedly they are supposed to be able to add the certificate number if you can get it and it will get added in. Not sure if actually true or not.

Update:

As soon as the tracker showed it being at "final preparations," I emailed the sales manager and scheduled an appointment for the next day. My exact words were that I would be staying in the dealership until I have my keys or they lock the doors, whichever comes first.

I walk in, show my documents, and sales manager attempts contact with the Ford rep, but "corporate is having a meeting." I pull out a chair, open up a book, and commence my wait for the next several hours.

Sales manager says they "think they can see my private offer in the system" so they were confident enough to give me a rebate for the private offer value plus the farm bureau offer. That way they can get me out the door and work out the technical difficulties with Ford later. I would say customer service was sufficient.

I go and cut a check to their finance department, and drive away.

Mine just went into Final Preparations this morning. the problem is that when I talked to the dealer the other day, I had no private offer, called Ford and they told me there was nothing there. Come to find out, the dealer used the wrong home address and zip code. Waiting for them to fix so I don't lose out on it. Calling Ford again today to follow up.

I’ve read when stuff like this happens a dealer has to let their sales and inventory specialist know to try to correct. I’m curious if a sales/inventory specialist is a position most dealers have in house or is that a Ford co rep like a regional rep?

I called my dealer (small town) and asked for sales/inventory specialist and they didn’t know who I was talking about. They said manager would call me back but never does call back even after 3x’s I’ve tried to get a hold of manager.
