Mounted $40 Harbor Freight bike rack. Turned the bike supports down to lower bike about 6" to make it easier for my to lift. Works well and can carry two bikes.

I attempted to install DIY bedrails. I got one in... sort of.

The M6 bolts I got from Lowes were way too small. I had some bolts left over from a HIKVISION camera install that fit, but I have no idea what those are (M8s maybe?) and they have bolt heads that block the eye bolts from moving. I'll have to get replacements and more washers.

I don't know whether the Ford DIY video or Lowes screwed me on this. I guess I'll report back when I find out.

As an aside, I also can't get all 4 bolt holes to be available. Unsure why. I know that front bolt wasn't supposedly part of Ford's rail plan, but you'd think they'd match it up with standard channeling anyway.

The Ford video is wrong as I've seen others post. The fastener size you want is M8. I don't remember for sure off the top of my head, but I think the full dimensions are M8-1.25x25mm. Lowe's had them! Of course I can't test them for myself since, my truck isn't here, but hey what can ya do...

I believe it is M8x1.25. Going to the masonry supplier next to my work tomorrow to pick them up.

Super annoying, not sure why Ford hasn't fixed the video.

Finally had a dry warm day to install my hood deflector. Love it on the Shadow Black as it just blends in for the most part.

Let me just tell you this. I ordered this from Fairwayfordparts.com and when it got to me the box looked like it has been to war. It was broken in half. Fairway of course sent me a return label and I sent it back, they sent me another. Same thing. Finally got my money back. Then I ordered directly from Ford. Guess what the same thing. Broken! I finally just went to my local dealer and they ordered one which came the very next day and the box and it was perfect. CRAZY!

Here is the part number, I strongly suggest going to your local Ford Dealer to order it that way. You can open it and check it while you are still there. Ford just sticks these things in a big box with no padding except for a little corner piece of bubble wrap that does nothing and that is the results.

I just took a trip around central Texas putting in around 650 miles. Smooth ride, did great. Part of the drive was in a nasty rain storm. The truck always felt sure footed, no issues. Without trying to baby the throttle, I still got 28 mph with 2.0 EB and FWD. Passing slow cars was never an issue and seats are super comfortable for a long drive. Yep, I like my truck. I did see another Mav in Carbon Gray at a Buckees at Madisonville. At a hotel, the guy riding up in elevator was asking questions about my truck. LOL, it was a good trip.

Ok, I did THIS today with My Maverick

Ordered at Ford accessories website, with tax and install at Bell Ford it came to $410.00
Truxedo soft roll up tonneau cover, complete with embedded Ford logo lol.
Came in yesterday, installed today.

Then topped off the tank - 3 weeks of ownership, 10 gallons of gas used, 46 MPG on 460 miles.
I can't stop smiling LoL
Still getting "looks" wherever I go - Loving it

Not a damn thing! I ordered it over 9 months ago, I paid $500 deposit, and still do not have a Maverick. Still do not even have a build date. Hybrid XLT, Lux. So hard to see all your great photos and stories. Gas is now $6.85 per gallon here in Northern California. GIVE ME MY TRUCK!!!!

I had another magnet and hitch cover made, put my hood deflector on, cut down the foam mats from my F250 and added my 2 $6 shower curtain rods to keep my cooler within reach. Reuse and repurpose Next is deciding on the color for tailgate letters and window tint.

I had the chance to test the tow/haul capabilities a few times in the past week. Very pleased with the results!

Twice I delivered boosters from my office in Chicago to the west suburb area. Approximate weight for each was 600 lbs. The adjustable tie downs are great. No issues and really couldn't tell that anything was in the bed.

In the second photo there is a 2100 lb pump on my 14' trailer. I picked it up late last week in central Illinois, pulled it home to Indiana then delivered it to my office in Chicago this week. Once unloaded, we loaded another 2000 lb unit and delivered it to a customer about an hour west of the city. Unfortunately after that I had a meeting at the western edge of the state, north of the quad cities, and had to pull the empty trailer all the way there and finally back home.

The Maverick performed flawlessly the entire time. Yes, you definitely knew that there was a significant load on the trailer but the drive modes and brake controller handled it very well. A good portion of my drive to the city is open highway with no stops or traffic so I was in Normal mode. Once I got into traffic and city I used the tow haul. The optimized shift points are just right.

Here are some trip stats:
Trailer with Approx 2K cargo - 16 MPG
Trailer empty - 19 MPG
Trip - 589 mi Avg MPG - 17.6

Even towing at nearly max capacity, the Maverick crushes the fuel mileage that I was getting in my F150 without a trailer. This week certainly proved to me that this vehicle is capable of performing as advertised

After replacing the reverse lamps with LED's, I decided to install a supplemental LED reverse. A buddy ordered a set of two and only needed one. I have these installed on my motorhome and on my Chevy Colorado. (Should've removed them before they towed it away after catching fire ... but that's another story). Especially useful if you're towing and need to see better.

I got a call from the Ford dealer I ordered my hybrid XLT with CP360 and the lux pkg, notifying me to remove both if I want to have my order previewed, otherwise, the chances are very high that I’ll be rolled over to a 2023. I’m holding tight. I was fortunate enough to pick up a hybrid XL in January…and I’m loving it!!
