So in reading this forum I see the rear speakers in the bas audio system is 4". What are some recommended 4" speakers that would complement PowerBass front speakers? I am wanting to do a budget upgrade for the Mav, nothing crazy, just something that will be a good improvement over the crap stock system. I am just looking at speakers at this point, no amps or anything. Thanks.

I am team no rear fill lol.

But if you are not looking to amp the front stage, I can see that rear speakers would be nice to have. As for budget options, I've found that the cheap pioneer speakers tend to be serviceable (and are very cheap). The bottom tier of kicker is usually a good value as well.

If you’re going budget and already have the powerbass for the front, I’d do THESE

If you’re willing to to spend $76, I’d go with these (and crutchfield is so good about returns if you don’t like them)

but can’t go wrong with the kickers or pioneer either

Thanks. The first link is not working however.

Should be fixed
I checked out the PowerBass 4" speakers, but what is not mentioned on the Amazon listing is they are 2-ohm and not 4-ohm :-(

They have the 2 ohm as well but that model should be 4 ohm (crutchfield only has the 2 ohm)…. The S-4002 should be 4 ohm. They also have the 3 ohm, which are designed to pull a little more power from the stock unit https://www.onlinecarstereo.com/Car...Pm12Ppf-siAgIWnaL4CrCEuQn4zeed5hoC69sQAvD_BwE

here’s another link with specs for the s-4002

Yup those are what I used, and I am very happy with them. Put the Metra 72-5600 adapters in your cart, call or chat with an agent and they will make them free.
Hi Dan, So I ordered the same speakers as you installed in the rear. I have morel coax in front and they are great. One quick question if you don't mind ? When you installed the rear morels did use any foam or weather stripping between the speaker and the Grill ,I see there is only 2 screws instead of four ,any problem with rattles?. Any tip or tricks or pitfalls I should know about? THANKS for your input and help!!

I was considering the Rockford Fosgate R14X2 since they are reasonably priced. I see RMS is 2-25 watts.
Anyone know what the stock head unit is rated at per channel?

No I did not use any foam or anything. I do not have any rattles back there. I also ran splitters off each rear speaker to power my sub while I was in there.
Install for the speakers was straight forward. Watch YouTube for how to remove all the plastics.

I installed the Pioneer ts-G400 4" in the rear, and they are just marginally better than the B&O stock speakers
Considering the Morels, do you think there would be much improvement from the Pioneers?

the Infinity Reference I used in the rear needed fader adjusted forward, because they are crisp and loud.
