I originally ordered an XLT Lux hybrid Area 51 in August. A while later I changed to ecoboost to add the 4K tow and fx4 packages. I still have not received a production date. This was at my local dealership in Illinois.

I needed to get a truck by springtime, so I had to either find a Maverick or consider a different model. A few weeks ago, I started looking for Mavericks in stock at dealers. Luckily, I was able to find this XL with 4K tow and the color I wanted. It also had other nice features such as floor mats, power driver seat, 400 w inverter, and CP360. The MSRP was somewhere between 26-27k. I got it for 28 before tax and fees, around 1500 above MSRP.

The dealership was in Wisconsin, around 150 miles away from me. The buying experience was great. I emailed them late at night and they emailed me back and called early next morning. They allowed me to immediately reserve the Maverick. After that, the paperwork was all handled over text and email. The next day, I was able to go to the dealership. The truck was ready and all of the paperwork was done. While I was signing the papers after looking over the truck, the manager installed license plates on the Maverick and I was ready to go in less than 30 minutes.

Both the buying experience and the truck have been great so far. I will review the truck more in depth after I have driven it for a few more weeks.

Take your opinion somewhere else. Only a fool judges another person's situation or judges someone they know nothing about over the internet.
The difference between Jan Terri and myself is I bought my Maverick for MSRP.
Dealers charge more than MSRP because they know there are fools like Jan Terri who will pay extra because they just have to have want they want NOW.
If everyone stuck to their guns and refused to pay anything over MSRP dealers wouldn't be ripping off their customers.

It's an open forum and my opinion is a valid as anyone else's. Don't like it......tough sh*t.

Just his opinion. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't give you the right to tell him to take his opinion "somewhere else."

Waxahachie Ford south of DFW in TX has load Maverick Lariat for sale for $43305 plus TT&L $8000 over MSRP. I told them that they keep it and that I would buy anything from them. They had 2 Broncos for $10000 and $20000 over MSRP.

Well, since I will soon be getting my Maverick for under invoice, I can say that there are "fools like Deacon Blues" who pay MSRP. Is that how this works?

There seems to be a large part of the county that loves the free market, but only when it benefits them.

Plus, msrp isn't a price tag. It's literally the SUGGESTED price. Don't like it? Don't buy it. The market will decide the price of these trucks. If they sell for 16 over msrp then that's the market value.

Right now used cars are ridiculously high. No reason to think that new cars weren't going to get hammered with higher prices.

The "fool" guy is from Canada. Paying over MSRP is not really a thing in Canada at least in Ontario where I'm from. Its not technically illegal but close enough that dealers don't go there

And what brand new AWD truck do you recommend for under 30k that I can get within the next few weeks? Because that’s what I need. I have a boat to tow and an ATV and farm supplies to carry in the bed. The spring season doesn’t wait…
Also, the fun starts only once you actually have it.

A Ford dealer in Northern Illinois close to Wisconsin has a black one hybrid nothing extra 10 written next to the MSRP what you can't see area mark up $39,000 I asked them why they did that on a $22,000 vehicle and the guy couldn't give me an answer I looked right at him and said stop being so greedy you want to make a couple thousand dollars that's fine not $16,000
Ford is cracking down on price gouging which this is. Maybe Ford will cut the number of orders that dealer gets next year.

Yup ! Sounds like Illinois ! I couldn't find one under 5k over in Illinois? That's why I am picking up at MSRP in Michigan in about a month. Being built now , finally 👍

5 years ago were you scolding a customer who talked sales guys down too far? Sucks for us right now, but it works both ways and right now we're taking it in the chin. And elsewhere.

We keep reading about that, but I'm not sure it's ever enforced.

I suspect that the slimy car dealerships are not afraid of the big bad wolf and it will be slimy business as usual.

If anyone has specific knowledge of FoMoCo spanking the hand of a dealer, many of us would be interested in hearing about it.
