Someone Taking Pictures of Us

Inverse occurrence: last week, driving S on US1 just north of Pigeon Point lighthouse, I (quickly) came upon a parked Maverick, too quick as it turns out. ‘She who must be obeyed’ said I couldn’t go back (we were late) and asked “what’s the big deal?”.

The next 30 minutes we’re spent answering that question…

First ‘in the wild’ Maverick, all 5-seconds of one at 55 mph…

Drove my day old XL to my local watering hole last Friday. Barely into my first beer & someone comes in asks who owns the Maverick....Spent the next couple hours answering questions & letting them check-out the interior.

My first road trip, I was at a Taco Cabana in El Paso and some guy took a pic of mine. The lil Mav just smiled and said "CHEESE!"

I'm glad I don't drive around places where picture taking is common or even possible. I despise being seen and I'm glad to maintain my "Only two pictures of me on the internet" status.

To be fair, I don't have a lot of driving experience in attention-grabbing vehicles. Besides an off-roading Jeep I had back in high school, it's been economy sedans and an F-150 I bought new in 2018. I never expected the Maverick to be so different. I've been stopped by strangers at car washes, gas stations, and drive thrus multiple times per week since I got my Maverick mid January. I've caught people inspecting it when I come out of stores and others pulling off a drive by stare. People just want to look at it and have a conversation with me about it. I'd also say that it's overwhelmingly positive attention too. Only person I've got a questionable reaction from is the guy that installed my lineX spray liner. He was like "I was wondering what the appeal of this truck is." Lol. Through our conversation, though, it came up that he drives a lifted F-250 and drives 30k miles/year. I wonder what the appeal of that plan is...

I had the Fire Department come to my house a few weeks back (carbon monoxide leak) and after they cleaed the hause they stood around for 15 or 20 minutes asking questions and admiring my Mav. I was happy to show it to them.

Dude was flying, driving dangerous like he was in an Altima or something.

People have asked about mine and got some questions at the gas station. I used to drive a modded Miata and Cooper S, so I’m used to people looking
