Yikes. So what did you do?
Nothing I, or anyone else can do for now until Ford comes out with an OEM part for it, or an after market part becomes available.

For now, I purchased two Road Genie magnetic emergency lights to put on my trailer.

"Ford doesn’t recommend doing a Hotwire installation by cutting and splicing into any existing wires, as it will void the warranty""

If you're dealer isnt a jack azz it wont void anything.

Theres no damage done by a correct splice for trailer lights.

Go ahead and do it to your Maverick and let us know how it works out for you.

I ordered one of these. Kind of expensive at $108 inc. shiping and tax. But got to have it. I will let everyone know how it goes.
So now your into your hitch for 400+ glad I had the foresight to add mine when I ordered my truck even if I may or may not tow anything 😅

Lol. I have 4K so no need.

seriously. Hire an electrician if you’re worried. It should be real simple though.

Ok folks I have installed this kit made for the Bronco Sport. The good news is it does plug right into the taillights. The bad news is the trailer lights are all wrong. But the other good news is it is easy to fix.
After standing back and scratching my ass for a while I got to looking at what was going on and let my 50 years of electrical training take over. Simple fix is to cut the red and brown wires going to the module and tie the red to the brown and the brown to the red. This fixed it! Now this worked on mine, but I am not liable for yours. Good luck!

You had to know that in the end it would not prove overly complicated. Nice work!

OMG! You just voided your whole eternal life! Are those spliced wires I see? Don't let Ford know or they will just cancel everything! Your warranty, status as a customer, first born grandchild....all gone! But, at least you have trailer lights!🤣

No! these wires are on the module the comes with the kit for the Bronco Sport. NO FACTORY WIRES WERE INVOLVED. It plugs into the taillight harness. This kit is independent of the factory wiring. It has its own power source and isolates the trailer wiring from the truck wiring. It only uses the truck wiring to control the module for the trailer lights.

Wouldn't matter anyway. But, glad you came up with a workable solution. 👍

People have been using these kits for years. I used one with my MINI with the help of the manager at the dealership. NO warranty issue at all.

Awesome!! Do you have a link to the part you ordered?

Do you have a pic of the 4-pin connector on the hitch/receiver? Or does it just dangle underneath the hitch?

Are there any other wires to connect anywhere else?

Look though the post for the link. Yes, you have to run a wire to the + post on the battery and plug in the splitters on the taillights. Yes, the 4-pin connector is not mounted. When not in use I just push it in the receiver. Not a difficult install but does take a little work.
