Did all Ford dealers get this? Asking since my contact at Chapman said they did not receive the email, and they are still telling me that taking my bed extender off my order will likely push me to MY23. Everything I am reading, removing the bed extender constraint, Ford now taking order dates (August 14th) into priority, and larger volume dealers (Chapman), is telling me to get them to take off the bed extender and I should be top priority!? So confusing, do I trust the dealer and leave it on, or trust all the information out there? Could it be possible Chapman did not receive the email? If they didnt, maybe they have priority and I should not remove it? Haha
Yes. See the image in this post.

You should not do that because Ford will build a bunch of trucks that turn into STOCK units when you do not fulfill the agreement. Ford will sell a truck, the dealer will get ADM but some poor fool will be standing with no truck cause his order can’t be built.
Ford turned this into a lotto, so make sure you're holding as many tickets as possible.
We all played their game by their rules... and here we are.

Now it's Jungle Rules. We should not be forced to jump through all these hoops, deleting options and features from our customized order. I'm paying MSRP (the horror) so get me my options.

Ford can have their sale, I get my truck and dealers can have all my other orders that I no longer want. For the next guy walking into the dealer, with plenty of inventory sitting on the lot, they'll have more negotiating power and maybe able to haggle the price to below MSRP (like how it should be).

I’ve been looking for this answer as well. I contacted my salesman who I am pretty close with and he made it seem like he had no idea what I was talking about. He talked with the sales managers and said they have not heard anything except the scheduling of Mavericks will continue to be slow. About 30 minutes from Allentown pa is where I ordered, assuming you are Chapman from Philly area.
See the image in this post. All dealers.

I find it interesting that we placed an order for a Maverick within a few day we receive an e-mail stating that an order was placed. Yet Ford can not send out email to the retail customers bring them up to date on what is happening. Nor that if in fact our 2022 model year will not be built, why are we not automatically given the option to move to the 2023 model year at the same price that we were quoted for the 2022. I gave my $1000.00 deposit to the dealer on July 30, order confirmed Aug 4, yet here I sit with no news other then what is written in the forums. Pretty shitty on Ford's part I feel.

I would encourage everyone to watch @fordvideoguy ’s latest video. He addresses this email. Yes first additions will be made. Yes they can make changes if its priority 2, they just have to make it a priority 10, adjust it, save it, and call the region manager to put it back to a 2 after the changes regarding the constraints were removed.

do your research (watch the video) then call your dealer and make the changes. It’s very likely the sales guy doesn’t know these details and is more of a fast talker that will speak before he knows. You likely will need to address these things with the sales manager or someone else in management , as the sales person won’t have direct knowledge or contact with the region.

From this morning.

SUMMARY
There is no denying that the excitement and demand for the All-New Ford Maverick truck has been
tremendous. The 2022 North American Truck of the Year has been a huge hit with customers, with many
still waiting on updates regarding the status of their retail orders. The combination of incredibly strong
retail order demand and unprecedented supply chain issues has created a number of capacity constraints
that have prolonged our ability to schedule many of these retail orders for production. These constraints
will require some customers to have to either modify their existing 2022 model year retail order, or wait to
place a 2023 model year retail order when the Maverick order bank re-opens this summer.

RETAIL ORDER SCHEDULING CRITERIA
While Ford still plans to produce a limited number of 2022 model year Mavericks for dealer stock
inventory, the priority for remaining production will go to unscheduled Maverick retail orders based on the
date they were submitted by the customer’s Ford dealership, vehicle model and configuration selected,
part availability, and the number of vehicles the customer’s Ford dealership receives:

1. Retail order receipt date (oldest retail orders scheduled first)
2. Vehicle model and configuration selected relative to capacity constraints on these specific
optional features and packages:
• Co-Pilot360 package (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
• XLT Luxury package (optional on XLT trim)
• Lariat Luxury package (optional on Lariat trim; requires Co-Pilot360 package)
• Spray-In Bedliner (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims; included in Lariat Luxury package)
• Cargo Management System (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims; included in XLT & Lariat Luxury
packages)
• Bed Extender (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
• Bed Tray (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
• Hard Trifold Tonneau Cover (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
3. Retail order verification completed by the Ford dealership
• A required step by the Ford dealership for retail order scheduling is to complete the Customer
Order Verification Process (COVP) which authenticates and approves the retail order.
4. Dealer Allocation based on Approved Market Basket Formula

RETAIL ORDER CUSTOMER OPTIONS
With expectations of these unprecedented supply chain issues continuing, we would ask all of our Ford
dealers that have customers with retail orders including the optional features and packages listed above
to contact their customers and review the options available to them:
1. The customer can work with their Ford dealer to make amendments to their 2022 model year
retail order (i.e. remove constrained features or option packages), dramatically improving the
opportunity for it to be scheduled for production this year.
• Memo: Please note that we recommend against any changes to the retail order’s body code
or PEP code (e.g. Lariat to XLT) as this will also change the receipt date of the order.
2. The customer can continue to wait for their 2022 model year retail order to schedule within the
capacity constrained levels. If the order is unable to be scheduled in the 2022 model year the
customer would need to work with their Ford dealer to convert their retail order to a 2023 model
year order when the retail order bank re-opens this summer.

Dealer Letter Template
RETAIL ORDER AMENDMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
For those retail orders that have been delayed due to capacity constraints on the optional features and
packages listed above, please find the recommended order changes below.
Order Combination Recommended Change

1 Spray-In Bedliner without XLT/Lariat Luxury Package Remove Spray-In Bedliner
2 Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Tonneau Cover
3 Cargo Management System w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Cargo Management System
4 Bed Extender w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Bed Extender
5 Bed Tray w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Bed Tray
6 Co-Pilot360 w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Co-Pilot360
7 XLT Luxury Package w/o Co-Pilot360 Remove XLT Luxury Package
8 Co-Pilot360 w/o Lariat Luxury Package Remove Co-Pilot360
9 Lariat Luxury Package Remove Lariat Lux Package but keep Co-Pilot360
10 Lariat Luxury Package Remove Lariat Lux Package and Co-Pilot360

We understand that customers who placed a retail order are frustrated with continuing to wait for news on
the status of their order, which is why we are looking for our Ford dealers to support by advising their
customers of their options. It is extremely important that our retail order customers understand their
options and are given the choice of how they would like to proceed before any changes are made to their
order.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Well, finally something from Ford MC. I got an email saying mine has shipped although the tracker doesn't show a sipped date. No one has communicated near enough during this process. I understand there are a lot of people waiting for answers, however there is no excuse for this poor communication. I would have loved to just gotten a quick note along the way saying what the hold up is and giving me the option to make changes to speed things up. Stopped by my dealer on Tuesday to get an update, all they said is I probably knew as much as they did. They finally told me that the last they could tell is that it is in Nogales Mexico and would go to Memphis TN to be picked up by truck carrier. I have been a Ford fan and customer for all my driving life. That is probably changing. We reserved a Toyota Rav4 for my wife last Saturday, and I did check out the Tacoma's. If there is any kind of issue when my Mav gets here, I will be driving a Tacoma. I believe Ford is going to loose of customers mainly because of bad communication.

I have a build date for March 21st, just changed from Feb 28th. Should I be worried? Or the fact that I have a build date I’m good..? Also I’d get rid of CP360 to get it faster but I’m not allowed to make changes now
I believe so. I think this memo only affects those who aren't scheduled yet.

Can't believe what's is going on with the Maverick. They take orders they cannot build then do not communicate with the customers. This caused me to check out the Santa Cruz. See around here they are selling for MSRP. And built in Alabama.
I still like the Maverick better. Maybe the demand for the Maverick is higher. But if Hundai can build cars why can't Ford. The Bronco rollout is even worse than the Maverick makes Ford look incompetent.

For one thing Hyundai hedged against the market and stockpiled control boards and chips prior to the supply chain crisis. Having leased two Hyundai products in the last ten years I would definitely consider the Santa Cruz if what it has to offer checks your boxes. I think in terms of build quality and reliability it will be far ahead of Ford.

Have altered my expectations of a MY22, as want what I ordered with the LUX and other restraints of copilot360 and SIBL. Now hoping for late November or early December delivery. Will call the x-plan people and ask for that second pin number. The DAV pin will expire Nov 30th and still qualify via stock ownership for a second pin. Note: Assume could get another DAV pin after the first one expires but will be too close to guess-a-mated late fall delivery.

Who at Chapman did you talk with? I am working with Ed Simpson and he was aware of the email and worked with me to remove CP360 from my XL Hybrid yesterday. I didn't have any other options on the constraint list, and only the power inverter, floor mats, tow hitch and moon roof in addition. My priority code went from 10 to 19 however - not sure what that means, but I asked him about it and he said the retail order team "know how to use the system to optimize the tool to get everything built as fast as possible". Hoping with a simple build and nothing on constraint list that my late October order will get built this year.

I wouldn't worry about the priority code, I was a 19 and a friend was at 17 with almost identical order except he didn't have SIBL or CP360. I was scheduled 2 weeks after ordering in January, ordered a day later and he is still waiting. Unfortunately though he ordered from Chapman

I got tired of waiting on my dealer to return a call and called the Ford customer service number. The lady I talked with assured me that, if a VIN had already been assigned (it was) that the vehicle would be built. I think we are all scaring each other with posts when a reassuring phone call is certainly helpful

I feel for you humans, because I reserved my Lariat (no lux) the first day allowed in June and it took my dealer two weeks to figure out how to turn it into a Bonafide order at Ford. So, on June 29 the order goes in the system and I'm immediately required to drop mudflaps because Ford doesn't have any and this will hold up my order.

Mudflaps, Really - Should have been a red flag for me.

Push ahead to March 2022, I have a TBD delivery date of March 18-29.

A short 9 months later and I'm still waiting. It's nothing personal, you and I are just victims of Ford's POOR MANAGEMENT. Like some said, you can buy a Santa Cruz and have it delivered in 3 weeks or less. Where did they get their chips?
