Just had the same multi-month delay. on an XL Ecoboost 4K tow w/ rim package. ETA jumped from 3/15 - 5/15. In production 1/11 built 1/31.

I'll probably look at other vehicles if this delay ends up not being a system glitch.
Rim package? Did you get 360?

Same thing happened to the Bronco Sport at Hermosillo last June, finished cars sat in the desert parking lot waiting on chips for three months.

UPDATE:

Ford responded to my dealer and said my "Unit is currently on chip hold and vehicle visibility should update upon release."

I want to figure out if they are actually trying to fix these "chip hold" vehicles or just letting them sit while they build other trucks.

So... Could anyone who gets an XLT with CoPilot360 built (and not held) in the next 30 days please post here? (It would also help to know if you have a 400W inverter, but that's not necessary.)

If that happens, and the currently held vehicles are still sitting without chips, then we will know that they may have been shunted aside and forgotten.
Still it makes you want to scream, "how did a Lariat get built after your Maverick manage to get chips and get delivered?"

I have a dollar that says that whoever was tracking incoming chips and planning allocations forgot to factor in the F150 lightning production ramp. These chips, along with the Mach E Chips (same delay) were just reallocated by the execs to the F150 production line. They are now building the dealer demo trucks and will start customer vehicles next month from what I read. That's my best theory anyway...

Husband's hybrid was 'built' on 1/29/22 and has an estimated delivery date of 2/28/22. I checked it while typing this comment.

I asked the same question -- several different ways. The dealer and I went through the specs for the Lariat and my XLT to see if I had any chip-using options on mine that it didn't have. There was nothing we could find. The Lariat had everything I had, plus a lot more.

Maybe the base Lariat uses different chips from the base XLT, so that they had what they needed for that truck but not for mine. That seems pretty unlikely to me, but I guess it's possible. I think the entertainment/info units are different so maybe that was it.

Also, the Lariat's MSRP was about $9,000 above mine -- so there's that...

Thanks. Answering a few questions would help me out a lot:
  • Is it a hybrid? [EDIT]
  • Is it an XLT?
  • Does it have CoPilot360?
  • Does it have the 400W Inverter?
Thanks again...

My Hybrid XL (ordered 7/ 23) last week got email build date changed only 2 weeks from original build date of 2/07 to 2/21. Ordered with SIBL, Copilot360 and hitch. Will be interesting if a basic XL get's built or another delay.

Thanks for getting back to me. A First Edition is a Lariat, so it's not exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm trying to see if XLTs with CoPilot360 and 400W Inverters are getting built and released for delivery.

I think your last line about the cost is probably why it got made before yours.

How are you all seeing your dates moved out three months? Have you actually been able to get into the Ford TRACKER? For me it's been down for 8 days straight, except for once, briefly this morning, when it still showed no change...said my hybrid is being delivered 2/13. (And since we haven't gotten the "Built" email or any notations about Shipping, we know that's not happening!)

It's interesting that my dealer ordered an XLT ecoboost for their inventory 4 days before my XL ecoboost .

The XLT went into production the day after my ordered XL did and is currently shipped and will be at the dealer by the end of the month. Meanwhile my XL is delayed to May 25th.

Yes.

I also went to the dealer and had him pull up the Vehicle History report, which has all that information and more.
