Mine officially changed from 2/18 to 5/19. About done with this whole thing. Completely losing all the excitement about it. The 22MY will be over half a year old by then. Loses some of its appeal not having it the full year. Maybe a field of Mavericks will spontaneously combust in a Hermosillo field.

PS. What’s the return policy on brand new hybrid Maverick all weather mats from the Ford store? Would like to just get my $165 back…

Well I had been thinking on ordering a Hybrid of one sort or another but the deadline for Hybrid orders snuck up past me, kinda glad now... Will still consider one for MY23 though.

I know of several people waiting for different vehicles, different manufactures that have all waited quite a while, at least one from last spring. Some have had schedules pushed out with varying explanations very similar to what Ford is saying. I'm convinced that it is definitely supply change issues, likely more than just electronic components though..

We'll see what fordvideoguy says but I'm betting he will confirm a variation of this and it is certainly not just Ford, however all could do a better job of communication. In my business businesses that communicate well survive, others.... well...

Maybe its a delay to fix the est 5000 trucks effected by the fuel tank recall that were built a full 4-5 months before(and still not delivered) the trucks being built in January/February and being delayed.

@fordvideoguy just mentioned this "3 month pushback" problem on his live stream. He thinks it's a data entry error (or "ramp error"?) of some kind (not clear exactly what he means).

He has contacted the brand manager and expects to have some info about this in a couple of days and may do a free-standing video on it when he finds out what is happening. He says to follow his YouTube channel for more info this week.

I drove 70 miles RT to visit my dealer today to ask about this. Here's what I got...

My hybrid XLT is stuck in Hermosillo, but another customer's hybrid Lariat just arrived:
  • The Lariat was ordered 2 days after I ordered my XLT.
  • The Lariat has everything on it that my XLT has (except floor liners) plus a lot more.
  • The Lariat was Produced as of 1/25/22, my XLT was Produced as of 1/11/22.
  • The Lariat went to Body Company and was Released the same day, 1/25/22.
  • The Lariat was Shipped Rail as of 1/26/22.
  • The Lariat was Received in Phoenix 1/31/22.
My dealer had no explanation for why a hybrid ordered after mine, and built 2 weeks after mine, would be shipped now while my truck is listed with a 3 month delay.
Fits into the narrative of what Jim Farley told stock holders about getting the higher profit margin vehicles out faster. Of course I'm probably mis-quoting him, but it's damn strange that your XLT didn't at the very least ride the same railcar as that Lariat!

They had discovered the fuel tank issue before even beginning builds in January. It was basically regarding vehicles already delivered.

I understand and empathize that Ford is dealing with extremely challenging supply chain issues, and suffering the consequences of not adequately assessing product demand, as well as engine and option package take rates.

What they can control, and are failing at, is communicating with the public about what is going on, and what the impacts are.

A little info would go a long way. Get out in front of it, and control the message.

I don't want to buy a different vehicle, but I'm going to have to if I'm not receiving my Maverick for another 6 months.

It's [not] just a hybrid issue, if you look at the orders being moved they are Lariat with Luxury Packages. I will talk about it tonight.
@fordvideoguy:

I appreciate the info you gave us tonight (2/1/22) on your livestream and will be watching for the special video on the "delivery pushed into May" issue.

If possible, could you respond on this thread when you find out what is going on? Lots of people have chimed in here with the same issue and it would help to get the info to them as directly as possible.

UPDATE:

Ford responded to my dealer and said my "Unit is currently on chip hold and vehicle visibility should update upon release."

I want to figure out if they are actually trying to fix these "chip hold" vehicles or just letting them sit while they build other trucks.

So... Could anyone who gets an XLT with CoPilot360 built (and not held) in the next 30 days please post here? (It would also help to know if you have a 400W inverter, but that's not necessary.)

If that happens, and the currently held vehicles are still sitting without chips, then we will know that they may have been shunted aside and forgotten.
