Anyone Just Taking What's on The Dealer Lots Instead of Ordering ?

You do realize that the dealer inventory system puts vehicles that are orders up on the website until they are deemed sold right? If I do the lookup like that on Ford.ca for my area I get the same thing, but none of the dealers actually have a Maverick. They just post anything they have a VIN for to get people in the door.

Yeah, the ford site says I have 23 Mavericks near me including 10 hybrid Lariats. Definitely not. You should use the Ford tracking system on this site with the window stickers and see how many are even delivered.

You need to call the dealer to see if it's actually available. Using the search inventory tool on ford's site is inaccurate.

Ford automatically post trucks enroute to dealers as inventory, whether they are customer orders or dealer stock (which there should not be any dealer stock Mavericks at the moment). So the only way you're going to get a Maverick at the dealer is calling the dealer and specifically asking if any of their enroute inventory is already spoken for.

This. You need to physically go to the dealer and ask them. Dealers around here show mavs in stock online but if you go to the dealer they aren't there. I think the ford website includes vehicles in transit. They are also rumored to include people's special order vehicles that are already spoken for.

I believe the dealers have nothing to do with listings on the internet on any site. Ford shows them in inventory even though most are orders and not available for sale. I've called every dealer of decent size in a 300 mile radius hoping to maybe stumble on an order declined by the person who ordered. But most dealers are going to jack up the price on those if you find one. I turned down an available Lariat AWD 2.0 a few weeks ago as it was 300 miles away and had a 5K adjustment.

I did. Called my local dealer asked what they had coming in and grabbed an XL. Lucky that it was equipped pretty much how I wanted it with no dealer markup.

I ordered a Lariat Lux FX4 in mid December, haven't gotten a production date yet. I know 7 weeks isn't a lot of time compared to a lot of people here, but decided to call around and found a XLT Lux/FX4/4K loaded to the gills coming in. Signed the paperwork yesterday, should be here in the next day or two.

Mike, I just went through exactly this last week. I am looking for an XLT Hybrid. I'm in Milton, 30km west on Pearson. Did the same search as you, found, I think it was 12 or 13 within 150KM, called about 8 and then gave up. They were all factory orders either in transit or waiting to be picked up.
If you find any available that you don't want, let me know..

FYI, it was mentioned above, but dealers here in Ontario at least can't legally sell for more than MSRP. Our American friends to the south do it a little different.

edit*** I just went to the Thorncrest Ford website and they show zero Mavericks in stock. The Ford website show the 2 you found. Likely as I was told, they are already spoken for.

Mine is supposed to be built the week of February 14th. Back in November I got to test drive one. If someone hadn't already put money down on it I would have bought it. Even though it didn't have all the options I picked or color. Haven't seen another one in Wisconsin since.

There are 5 Mav's sitting on various dealer lots from XL right up to a fully optioned Lariat with FX4 package within 6 miles from me. I have already put a deposit down a week ago on the exact build I wanted but if I sacrifice colour and add a couple of things I don't need I can grab one from a local dealer tomorrow.

All this talk on here about 5 month plus wait times is a bit off putting
