That Montana is ugly. Santa Cruz looks better and that's not a good looking. Now onto the toyota.....
The Toyota looks better. Still not as good looking as the Maverick.

While it’s not “currently scheduled “for American markets they got one that could be ready quickly. 2 door or 4 could be coming to a dealership near you. As I said in another post, American automakers are not going to sit around and watch everyone waiting and searching and paying $3000 to $15,000 over sticker for a Maverick. We will see competition in the coming years. It’s always been like that throughout automotive history. We had little (compact) Rangers, s-10s, Toyotas, Dodges, and now they are making a return.

Toyota is coming too.

total BS and not possible. NONE of the midget trucks from SA will be coming soon- or ready quickly. There's a reason it hasn't happened already, and that is they would take a complete redesign to meet American safety standards. They use far less steel and support in the doors and cab to keep the weight and cost down. They also predominantly feature diesel engines or tiny ICE motors with manual transmissions that are fine for running around 3rd world countries, but won't fly here. Also less tech, again to keep the cost down.

Ask yourself which of the big automakers would make the investment in a whole new vehicle and factories to compete with Ford and Hyundai in US compact market, especially when the future focus is EV. The formula is already there with Ford and Hyundai to take an existing US market compliant SUV/CUV and create a small truck off that platform- not import junk from 3rd world countries.

I saw a 2-3 year old Nissan Frontier, 4 door about the same size as the Maverick. They have the ability to quickly get something going. I guess we will wait and see. When they do come out some of the guys will still be waiting on the 22 Maverick.

I swear, everything about this truck screams MAVERICK. They just changed the front end and the emblem on the tail gate.
Everything thing about the Maverick screems Chevy S-10 redo. Modernize it some and a “New Truck “. Those of us that have been around awhile have seen it all before. No great, never done ideas here. As technology improves, vehicles improve. If chevy had a hybrid engine back in the day it would have been in the old S-10.

Cheap junk from GM as usual quick and nasty looking design.

I love how everyone talks shit about Ford. Toyota this, european that. I never cared for em. Ford has always been ahead of the game. And kicked ass whenever they did arrive late. Also compared to GM engines they have always matched performance while beating them on volumetric efficiency if not mpg. Mustang, Bronco, E-series, Maverick, Courier into Ranger, IFS 4x4, 5.0 vs 5.7, OHC, GT500s, Transit connects, MachE, New Bronco, and now Maverick.

Ford is what drives innovation.

Only Toyota can put our an electric truck that 1) is costed out of the comparative market by 1.5x - 2x the cost of competitive trucks and 2) will be electric, but somehow will find a way to still only get 8 MPG :).

After years of Toyota Trucks , most recently a 2016 Tundra CM with 1990's fuel efficiency technology - I cannot wait to offload this for my Ford Mav XLX 2.0EB
FX4 Lux 4k Tow. My expected April delivery cannot come soon enough!

I will never own a toyota, and try to avoid riding in em. But I have towed 5 in the last 6 years.

I made about $1800 in stock profits in the last year with em, some of which they took back last week lol! Really I'm just one of those die hard Ford guys. I drive alot of jeeps. But Ford is the only brand I would consider buying new from. I may recommend other specific cars based on merits but I like my Blue Oval.

Fair enough. I understand why people like Fords. Kinda curious why you hate on Toyotas so much though. They both build fine cars and trucks.

Just curious. Why?

My Maverick replaced a Toyota. Only reason it replaced that Toyota because after 465k miles it developed a head gasket problem. If that didn't happen, I'd still be driving that Toyota. Needless to say, this Maverick has some big shoes to fill.
BTW, this is the 4th Ford in our household. Two of them were inherited. We also have a Nissan. Toyota is gone. No, we're not loyal to Ford. The Maverick just happen to check the two major boxes for me, price and MPG.
