Before adding Hybrid the Ridgeline starts at $36k, ouch! I still wouldn't see this as a true competitor.

Yeah that’s going to cost $45,000+ I’d imagine.
Oh for sure. But I'd imagine they'll make it worth it.

You are so right but with some Mavericks going for that right now your going to get a lot more NICE. And expected AWD Hybrid.

The ridgeline is a great "truck" but it's just too expensive to compete with the Maverick. Couple this with the fact that if you compare specs it's barely bigger in terms of interior space and cargo space you'd have to really like the styling and Honda nameplate better to justify the price difference for *most* buyers. I will say that the in bed trunk is a really really great feature but otherwise the Maverick is a much much better value.

I'm sure it'll be a nice truck but won't be cost competitive with the Maverick.
So true. That’s why we have Taurus and Mercedes. Volkswagen and Audi. So folks that like nicer and have the bucks for it, while guys like me look for the bargain.

Good to see another hybrid truck being developed, but the Ridgeline is really in a different segment. The Maverick is small and affordable, while the Ridgeline is large and expensive. Both are terrific vehicles, but not direct competitors.

Honda thought of that and are building on the larger Pilot platform so more room coming.

Logically the Ridgeline hybrid will have a nice price premium over the gasser just unlike the Maverick.

Yet Ford doesn’t rhyme with bizzarro or does it?

Looks like they're doing a mild hybrid so the efficiency wouldn't likely approach the Maverick hybrid efficiency. Probably closer to the EB mav.
