Well... I sure hope Mullinax contacts my son before the OP (sorry OP). We have 2 lariats on order with them. One Hybrid and one 2.0. My son really wants the hybrid but missed the cutoff date. We have asked Mullinax to please let us know if they get a Lariat Hybrid in that is available.Check out Mullinax Ford Apopka, Fl.
They are large dealer.
I would not pay over MSRP because you don’t have to, patience![]()
Exhibit A:Took me 30 seconds. You owe me $1k finders fee.

How am I still a part of this? I just did it to show you a search would turn up results? You're a big boy, find your Mav and make your deal.Exhibit A:![]()
So that's an MSRP of $33,985 with a $6k ADM lmao from the dealer you found. To make it worse, its not even theirs, it's a customer order so I'd have to cross my fingers that the customer cancelled.
Thank you so much for your insight and I commend you for reading the whole train wreck lol!!@idiotforv
I have read all of this (I have no idea why). I would not pay $6k markup for a Maverick. However, what I would do isn't material because my circumstances are different than yours. I don't need any vehicle for 4-6 months. I would like to get one before that, but I don't have any pressing circumstances (like a kid that needs to drive and no one to teach him to drive a manual) that require me to purchase now.
Based on what I have read here OP, you clearly want this vehicle. You also have some good reasons for purchasing from this particular dealer and trading your vehicle to them. If you can afford the 6K mark up and you want the vehicle now, get it. It isn't likely to be cheaper for a year. In the event you don't like it in the next few months you could probably at least break even by selling it.
My brother, who was a marine and is also very good with money, would probably tell you to pass. I was never a marine and I'm not as good with money, I say do what you want to do. You have some solid reasons given your current circumstances. Just be aware it won't be the best financial decision. It might still be the right decision for you.
You're only part of it because you wanted to be lol you have no one to blame but yourself here. How am I still a part of this? I just did it to show you a search would turn up results? You're a big boy, find your Mav and make your deal.
Congratulations, be sure and let us know how you like it when you make it back home!Just wanted to cap this off and put it out to pasture, I've heard everyone on here and I appreciate your input. I know this is not the best financial decision but to be fair to all of you that got the truck for under MSRP my actions are only boasting your value so you really should be thanking me lol.
In any case we decide against the popular opinion on here and we'll be the new owners of Carbonized Grey Metallic Hybrid Lariat Maverick soon. I look forward to the insight these boards can often provide, and I'm excited to become part of such a lively and involved bunch!
Just saw this - good for you, man! CG is an awesome color in person and you're gonna love it. The rest of the forum "I'd never pay over MSRP blah blah blah" don't understand what the S in MSRP stands for.Just wanted to cap this off and put it out to pasture, I've heard everyone on here and I appreciate your input. Thanks brother and yeah I'll be well below 70% LTV! The truck arrived at the dealership today, confirmed! I'll post pics once its in the driveway! You need to ask yourself two questions:
As you can see, my truck is a real truck in my profile picture. Already have 1k miles on it. I shopped around and made contacts with some of the better dealers in my area and HAPPILY paid $2,599 over MSRP to avoid the drama week in and week out (for the exact truck that I had built originally mind you) less the $750 college rebate as I'm in the process of earning my MBA. Also got about $4k more for my car via Carvana than I ever thought I'd get and ended up financing for 1.9%/60 months less than what someone would be able to purchase a '15 Camry for.
- What will your principal be on the loan you are considering? Will the deal as a whole keep you in the green that if S*** hits the fan, you'd be able to sell your vehicle for at least what you have on your loan i.e. avoiding being "underwater"
- Do I want to be like the rest of this forum complaining every Thursday that they didn't get a build email THEN paying above MSRP when their truck comes in anyway because that's what the market is dictating right now?
My advice? Be friendly and cordial with a few reputable dealers and have them put you on their "list" of folks that flake out when their trucks come in. Try and negotiate under $5k ADM, keep your LTV at or below 70% and you're good to go.
