ADM in Hawaii

I just spent all day calling every dealer in the state of Hawaii and enquiring about markups on special orders. Maui Kauai and Oahu have 5995-7995 dealer markups on special order mavericks! The big island has a by comparison small markup of $4500 which even with the inter island shipping is lower than the others!

Have you priced shipping from the mainland from a dealer with no ADM?

@K8o8 Just made an account to reply to you.
I called the dealers here on Oahu and was told Windward Ford would be $7,995 and that Cutter and Honolulu Ford were $10k markup. Maui was $6k.

I opted to order from the mainland at MSRP and have it shipped. I put in an order for a California dealer with a refundable $500 deposit and they said I will have to arrange shipping when it comes in but they can get it to the dock (about 24 mins from Long Beach). Shipping will be about $2k.
I've got another order pending with with Long McArthur in KS and they said they have shipped to HI last year and have taken HI orders already this time around too. I was told that they will actually "dropship" the truck to a local dealer and pick up will be from them but you will pay Long McArthur. This seems preferable to me so I hope that order does get confirmed. Also, they said if you finance with them they will cover $1k of shipping costs.

Both of these are for the Tremor package. I called a bunch of dealers and seems like only a handful of them are able to actually order the Tremor so keep that in mind if that's what you are looking for.

BTW, you only have till this evening before the banks are closed for the Eco Boost (Hybrid is already closed) so tick tock.

Sweet! I just got my Lariat Tremor confirmation from Long McArthur as well. I guess well see who gets it first!

I ordered from Granger 1-16-2022. Granger isnt taking any new 23 orders till their unfulfilled 22s are scheduled. We may be waiting a while but we are hoping to make a mainland roadtrip and vacation out of it. With driving it to the coast and camping or staying in cheap motels, it should only cost us maybe $1000 over the airfare costs. I guess the race is on to have the first Tremor on the islands.

when you buy from mainland dealers and shipped to Honolulu, do you need to go to the dock to receive it or does it get shipped to a local dealer to process?

Most mainland dealers let you handle the shipping so it would be picked up at the dock. Thats the general process not 100% always.

if you have them send your vehicle to a local dealer the local dealer usually charges a curtesy delivery fee and in the current market they may even charge equal to their adm to do a curtesy delivery.

Yeah just arrange shipping through Pasha. Even if you do a 3rd party shipper that is a glorified money grabber, you will probably only pay $2500 still cheaper than markups on island.

and thoroughly inspect your vehicle when it arrives for damage and be sure to file claims within the window they allow. And be sure to do a good cleaning including the undercarriage to wash off any salt.

Ohh yeah the salt film is thick! Only premium cars come to dealers wrapped so any cheaper models bought off the lot should be cleaned thoroughly underneath too.

My salesman texted me earlier today if I knew anyone who was interested ... I guess there are three Mavericks coming in and at least two are Lariat hybrids. I didnt ask what kind of mark up they are asking. I hate that it is like this right now.
