Maybe it’s the poor people who are payment driven then, I dunno but throwing 6k dealer add on out the window is crazy to me.
So since it's so crazy, you're at least staying consistent and not buying anything that's not necessary because it's more expensive today then it was a year ago right? Or more likely your just too busy talkin to really think about your words.

The trade really isn't worth as much as they're paying for it, the dealer is "throwing it out the window". For instance, would you like to buy a 2017 Subaru Impreza with 41k miles, for the low low price of $20,500 ($18.5k for the trade + $2k tax credit).

After attempting to find a 2022 dealer stock hybrid lariat for anywhere near sticker and failing miserably I'm considering purchasing one that is yet to arrive from a local dealership in the DMV area. They're refusing to budge off their $6k markup and they're charging a ridiculous "Processing Fee" of $899.

They are taking a student rebate of $750 off and the only reason I'm truly considering this is my trade value. I'm trading a 2017 Subaru Impreza that I bought 2 years ago for $16k, put on 10k miles, Subaru had it at about $13k value and I'm getting $18.5k on the trade. My idea, crazy high trade values are washing out the crazy ADM on the Maverick.

Thoughts? Should I do it? I've NEVER paid over MSRP, usually way under invoice, but these times and all these other buyers (I guess including me if I move forward) are making it impossible to do that. Truck is listed on United Road Tracker with a load number and Ford tracker has it as an early Feb delivery.
If you feel as though you want to go with the $6000 over MSRP I would have the dealer throw in just about every accessory and free service for a certain number of years!

You'll need to change your name on this forum to "Ben Dover."
Jenny, if all it takes for you to think about bending over is $6k then you're really undervaluing yourself!

I don't know how to explain fiat money any better. I do know that some of y'all folks have spent way too much time being rude, inconsiderate, and judgmental. It's unfortunate that you don't know the meaning of caring for your neighbor because you're too concerned with trolling them instead. You complain about today's inflation and then turn around and contribute to the nastiness and depersonalization that are fruits of the same labor.

Do you mean tell them, ok I'll pay $6k over MSRP but I want oil changes for life, ceramic coating, all the back 3d printed accessories? Because this is a great idea, I'll give it a try!

That’s what I’m working on with a dealer who wants to charge a premium for the Lariat I found.

@idoitforv I sure how you don't trade your car into the dealership. You can get MUCH more from Carvana I suspect. Also check CarMax, but I think Carvana may give you more for a 2016. I am willing to bet that the difference in price between what the dealership and Carvana gives you will drastically reduce that extra $6000. At least check it out. PS: TLDR... did not read all 7 pages, so don't know if anyone already told you that.

lol I did not expect this much traffic, thanks for the advice I'll give that a shot today! I was attempting to write everyone who gave me their time to give me input back but it got alot fast.

TL.DR: Most disagree vehemently that I move forward with the deal, some say YOLO, do you.

Have to do what makes you happy. If you don't mind the 6K then do it. My son missed out on the Hybrid cut off date and is prepared to pay up to a 2K markup. It sucks the dealership is asking that much. I would say.. make an offer of 3K over and you will sign today. Then walk out if they don't want to do it. It may be a couple of weeks before they find a buyer willing to pay that. Since I TLDR... who was the dealer.... so we can dealer shame them.

If we weren't concerned, we'd tell you to go ahead and pay the $6000 ADM. It's your money. Do what you want. We're all on this forum to exchange information, and have some fun while waiting on our Mavericks. Sure, we poke fun at one another. It's called a sense of humor. You should get one, they're nice.

lol I tried, and did walk away and was only able to get more for my trade from my negotiations. I did not say the dealer and I'd prefer not to but suffice to say it's basically every dealer with stock hybrid's on the east coast.

lol I've been in the Marines for 13 years, I assure you I have plenty of sense of humor and if that's all you meant by it, then maybe I overreacted. I guess I've gotten a little jaded and disheartened by the input I've received over the last 7 pages.

For those waiting on your trucks, y'all prob all already know this but I was able to track the truck on the Ford Order Tracker, then track the delivery via United Road, then watch the delivery truck arrive at my dealer via V-LMS.

And really, that's all I meant by it.
