Does Maverick have auto start stop? Disable possible?

I pulled the plug off of one of the posts on my battery, like the guy does in this video. I get a warning when I start up, but my auto start/stop is deactivated.

I got the same error.. maybe they changed something in the program. I will probably need to use a scanner to change the code.. or just keep hitting the button. Lol.

Yup. I just press Ok at the error and drive on. No side-effects that I can see, and I'm happier. I have "engine dying PTSD". Way back in the day, the engine dying at a stop light meant I could absolutely not get it started again - unquestionably a disaster, always had to push it to the side of the road. I can't shake it even though it was decades ago. I had some really terrible cars, and they scarred me for life.

Not really if you watch the video the just unhooks the plug and like magic start/stop is disabled! No need to spend 100 bucks from autostop eliminator

Just watch the posted video shows the pulling a plug off the negative battery side and like magic no more auto start/stop

I got a battery error pop up on the screen when I removed the plug... I plugged it back in and error went away. I am just going to make it a habit of reaching and pressing the button when I get in the car.

UPDATE - the whole thing unplugs - all the wires you see are connected and it all comes out - see second photo. The release is right in the middle, small little latch you push in to release. Had to wiggle a put to get it to come out and used a small screwdriver head in the two inserts on the edges to get it started.

Now to do my install.

I probably should call the Ford dealership on this one. Does the Mav have the idle shutdown, and if so can I switch it off? Seems like a lot of vehicles today have auto shut down at red lights and drive thru burger joints..lol

If, like me, you always have defrost on, no need for it- start/stop doesn't happen with defrost going.

I've never had a vehicle with auto stop but it must be annoying as everyone wants to disable it. I am awaiting my hybrid so I obviously want the engine off as much as possible. I'm curious how much the average gas mileage drops by disengaging this feature on the EB. Hypothetically, would you be willing to trade 2-3 mpg to have this feature turned off?

My bigger concern is wear and tear on the engine and starter motor over the years. But it is wicked annoying as well.

You cannot disable it on the hybrid. It's part of the basic operation of the hybrid.

Yeah, with the hybrid your goal is to keep that engine off. I was curious what effect the auto stop has on EB mileage.
