I think we should start two threads on Thursdays; one for the scheduling and the one for the raging comments of those who missed and missed the scheduling honor..
this is mine

Ford used us for marketing/shareholder pleasing purpose

Come on Ford! Where are the mavericks!
This delay is a bad joke! I think even a relatively sane person that understands all these supply chain disruptions has the right to get impatient and fault Ford for the delay. Ford should have stopped accepting reservations way sooner!!!!!
Ford does not want to pay extra $ for components due to inflation adjustment and it is sprinkling the scheduling for a few lucky ones.
I feel we were used as a Marketing asset for Ford to showcase all those reservations and claim "success" but then Ford will need 1+ years to build most of them.

In the meantime, my wife's august order for a VW ID4 has been moving along. It was built and is now crossing the ocean from Germany for a February delivery. There are a lot of batteries, chips, foam, and god knows what in it but still moving along..
By the time Ford delivers my July hybrid, there will be flying cars.

Complete nonsense when folks who ordered similar builds to mine- ECO with Spray in Liner/LUX Package in December are getting scheduled and here an August order just rots- I think with all the nonsense of Ford's ordering/allocation system they could at least change things up and move to the older orders first but no-

As bad as this current car buying experience may be, the alternative of stalking the dealer lots for a chance to purchase a vehicle is much more disturbing to me.

There are plenty of vehicles that can be ordered at MSRP with 2-3 months to delivery even from FORD. It is the "success" of the hybrid that goes beyond what it is fair. Ford does not want to lose money building them.

You have my solidarity, a June 10 order is shocking.
The numbers from your dealer show a situation that is even worst than I thought.

My small vent. I ordered 6/25, nothing scheduled, but I saw almost identical builds to mine scheduled today that were ordered in August. I've forwarded 2 people to my sales guy. The first already has their hybrid XL, the other was scheduled today.

Just frustrated. My hope was for a delivery by Christmas, 6 months didn't seem like I was asking to much. Here we are almost 7 months later without even being scheduled. I need to tear down my YJ and I can't until I have my Maverick. I don't know if it's going to make it to the Motorpool National Meetup in June now. /end rant

This is exactly what is rotten with the process. I can understand delays for supplies or labor restrictions--this type of delay appears to be purely tactical crap with dealerships. Why should a Maverick with the identical build get delivered months earlier to an identical (to Ford)customer? The only differences are the dealers. It's frustrating and the customer is powerless as the system is opaque or even worse--random.

My dealership experience is even more frustrating as I have an intermediary who doesnt answer calls or emails. So now the only information I receive is anecdotal postings on a website forum that says that some people with the identical build who ordered more than a month later than me are getting their trucks already while I don't even have a build date. And, there are still plenty of people who ordered before me still wandering in the dark without build dates. Even calling Ford's marketing line only yields the most basic of knowledge- a priority number which doesn't reflect actual priority.

Hardly the way to impress people, such as myself, whose first experience buying from Ford is this clusterfuckery.

Okay, I'm done with the rant. Thanks.

I've had a couple of new Fords in my households in the last decade, but this is the first car I have ever ordered. It's hard. My salesman is awesome. He understands my frustration and is grateful I'm so patient. He is a very genuine person. (coming from me that's huge)

I hope you get built soon. If I can't take 18 to Branson, I won't. Maybe I'll have my Maverick by then?

I do think Ford needs to do something different - I benefitted from what you early orders learned…namely DO NOT order any accessories, accept the Drop-In and keep it standard. I do think that Ford should have taken care of the early orders first - and if not, give those ordering a chance to alter and keep their place in line. I hope Ford learns from this - as the OP said, they benefitted mightily from the Marketing and good press from all those early orders. They need to find a way to make it right/fair for them too.
