Here is what has worked for me. After connecting Android Auto, do a "ok google" and while it is responding, adjust the volume. As long as AA is actively responding audibly, thats what you are adjusting.

If you look under the front seats from the back you will see vents that bring HVAC to the rear passengers. I haven't been bothered to check how much air each setting brings back there though. I only have had dogs in the back.

3 out of 4 vehicles I drive on a regular basis don't have side curtain air bags. The one that does(my Maverick) is probably the safest. Just glad for those waiting on the replacement parts to get their Maverick. I will get mine replaced in a couple months, no worries
