If you look under the front seats from the back you will see vents that bring HVAC to the rear passengers. I haven't been bothered to check how much air each setting brings back there though. I only have had dogs in the back.

I installed my OEM front and back by pulling them slightly away from the fender sides before tightening them. They don't touch the outer fender paint at all. Been on the truck 9 months with no problems

3 out of 4 vehicles I drive on a regular basis don't have side curtain air bags. The one that does(my Maverick) is probably the safest. Just glad for those waiting on the replacement parts to get their Maverick. I will get mine replaced in a couple months, no worries
