Says who? Some of us are very cold sensitive and want the seats, steering wheel and vehicle warm when we get in. The wife remote starts hers to cool down in Summer!!I'm more concerned you're remote starting at that warm of a morning.
All jokes aside, remote start is for 0 to -30F.
"remote start is for 0 to -30F"? Obviously you have never lived in the far south. I use my remote stare to start the AC.I'm more concerned you're remote starting at that warm of a morning.

ObViOuSlY we are talking about “cold” mornings."remote start is for 0 to -30F"? Obviously you have never lived in the far south. I use my remote stare to start the AC.
Good to hear, but I would still report what happened the other day to your dealer if you haven't already done so. Who knows if there is an issue or not, but what happened is definitely odd. I know when I get my hybrid in a month or so, I will be keeping a close eye on the remote start function.FYI All, I tried the remote start this morning and everything was.. fine? Only differrence is i didnt have the heater on, so Im going to try it with the heater on tmrw morning, maybe its the heater causing the issue?
For sure, I still have to go in for some upgrades that need to be installed, but its the holidays and all, so it will have to wait.Good to hear, but I would still report what happened the other day to your dealer if you haven't already done so. My wife's "stare" has a lot of powers but still won't remote start a vehicle."remote start is for 0 to -30F"? Obviously you have never lived in the far south. I use my remote stare to start the AC.
What about at 100 degrees? You don't want the AC on?I'm more concerned you're remote starting at that warm of a morning.

something's still not right. Hope this gets figured out.Another update, remote start this morning, which was again a pretty cold morning for here, and rotten eggs smell again(Unburnt fuel clearly), but not as strong as the original time.
Too much unburned fuel can ruin and/or shorten the life of a catalytic converter. Make sure your dealer records this in your vehicle history in case you need a cat warrantee replacement.Another update, remote start this morning, which was again a pretty cold morning for here, and rotten eggs smell again(Unburnt fuel clearly), but not as strong as the original time.
I remote started my hybrid 4 days this week after work and had the burnt plastic smell pretty bad the first and second time. I noticed the smell outside the car and inside the first time, and then just inside the next few times. Also the first time the engine was kind of heaving, or revving up and down. I let the car warm up for about 10 minutes each time before I got in. Also it was very cold this week, it got down to -10F. Once I got in and started driving I rolled down the windows and the smell went away. Seems weird that it only happens with remote start.Another report of similar issues:
