DId you say this was a push button model? If so, It is probably just the push to start relay.

The traction battery does not start the engine. It's the 12 volt that does that and powers the electronics. The traction battery only powers the drive motor. If they replaced the 12 volt, it's probably something else.

This is almost correct but a few things need to be cleared up.

The 12 volt battery powers the low voltage electronics like the displays, sensors and the computers.

If this battery is bad/dead you will not start (Ready) a Hybrid.

The motor/generator (the smaller electric motor) in the transaxle is used to start the ICE engine. This motor uses the HV battery. If the HV battery is low or defective the ICE engine will not start.

The HV battery powers the traction motor, the motor/generator and the electric AC.

In the future, those will be available at any corner drugstore, but in 2021, they're a little hard to come by.
