I have zero patience or sympathy to persons in the USA who say "they have no way to charge an EV".
Because they are lying, kidding, or just don't know that almost all persons in the USA can.

I'm thinking most people don't give a healthy toss about that opinion, and the entire premise is a specious argument.

Before they can charge it, they have to buy an EV first.

Not everyone can afford one, nor does it make economic sense for those who do not have access to home charging, or a viable charging network.
For those that are in this situation, buying an EV could be a profoundly stupid decision.

There are always ways to do just about anything.
The real question is whether that "something" can be done conveniently and cost effectively, compared to other available options.

What I have heard are that for some who don't live in your utopian world, an EV can be a royal pain the backside. Just because your Costco has chargers doesn't mean that that is a convenient option for everyone else. The nearest chargers to me are 50 miles away, and despite your assertion, NO not everyone is going to let you use their house current to charge their car.

While I could invest in a charger and an EV, I am not currently inclined to do that.

You could also slow charge your EV while it was parked let me guess, 18 to 22 hours a day.

And if you are driving 250 miles away, 99.9% sure you'd be in a municipality with power by then in all but the rarest of circumstances.

For EV's there's three with one being rapidly phased out. Soon to be two. And charging stations will carry both.

It's no different than choosing 87 or 91 octane.

Sorry but no. The gas station was not 250 miles away. It was in my home town. No electricity, running 100% back up generators on natural gas. I don't think there were any charger stations there for EV's but if there were they would probably have been shut off. Even if they did not shut them off the line for them would have doubled the gas line.

I think you are overthinking it.
They are going to either catch fire right away, or not at all. And COPIUS water is the cure for lithium battery fires. Unfortunately, a single fire hose from a single fire truck is often not enough on a freeway. I think there was enough water (sadly) in Nepal. If your worry is shock / electrocution, risks are there. But the big high voltage pack shattered into smaller pieces will be less dangerous. Under 50 volts is generally regarded as safe by OSHA.

TERRIFYING situation over there. On a bright sunny day with no warning.

It will be extremely dangerous uncovering an EV that has been buried in mud for weeks. Precautions will need to be taken to avoid toxic situations & fires - even after weeks. Especially after weeks. Backhoes or heavy excavation equipment will have to be used carefully.

There are lots of reasons to not get an EV.

"I can't charge it" is truly, almost never the case.

It was amazing to see a rural village at about 9,000 feet in Nepal with more goats than people be able to charge EV busses. Not scooters. Busses.

If they can do it, so can you!

But I don't live in Nepal.

FYI the first couple hundred decommissioned windmill blades due to age or damage went to landfills.

They don't do that now for the most part.

They are mostly silicon by weight.
Like sand.
The new process is to grind them up and they are added to concrete mix.
They get recycled / up-cycled.

While the large majority blades *can* be recycled, currently only a small percentage actually *do*.

This Costco was built last year 2025 with 24 pumps. ZERO EV chargers of any brand on the property.

Costco does the math for the area it's in.
I've seen one more neighborhoodly one with many - and one more inner city with none.

If I unplug cable and plug it back it - it'll charge 5 extra min.
I can't see the graph move or the 100% go up - but hey, it took it.

Now - the lower end of battery tests are interesting to watch.
