Same thing here! Sat with my dealer this morning for paperwork but they cannot deliver my maverick to me because they need to do an inspection and they are waiting for more details from ford. I should get it in the beginning of january if everything is ok. If there is a hole, we don't know what they will do!I just confirmed with my dealer this is a legit recall that affects my VIN, and that the issue is exactly as had been described - potential drill hole in fuel tank from clearing drain holes during spray-in Bedliner process.
They advised that it’s just an inspection at this point and there is no parts kit available. I assume that means that in the event they performed the fuel tank inspection and found a hole, they don’t yet have replacement fuel tanks available.
I did not schedule the inspection at this time and will wait until I receive an official notice from Ford.
Looks like Carmax was correct on this. I find it somewhat surprising that they were ahead of Ford in announcing this recall. After I spoke to the dealer, I logged into my Ford account and checked my VIN for recalls and it’s still showing “No Recalls” , which I now know is not correct.
