I was supposed to take delivery of my FE today. Dealership said the stop-sale required them to drop the fuel tank and inspect for holes that may have been created during the spray-in bedliner process.

Will hopefully have it inspected tomorrow morning for pick up in the afternoon

This was posted over on the MachE forum.

This could explain why my wife's Mach-E keeps getting pushed for delivery to the dealer. It was built on October 15, but has sat in the train yard in Mira Loma, CA, since November.

There is an open recall for maverick with spray in bedliner built between may 20th and October 29th.The fuel tank has to be removed and inspected.
Major problem with this is that production on the Maverick's for retail sale didn't start until September 13th.

Log into your Ford Account and check the vehicle's dashboard. If there is a recall it should show there. No recalls on my VIN.

I did that with my account, it says that there isn't a recall on my VIN... However, I was supposed to pick my maverick up on 12/17. After test driving it last Friday, before I could sign the papers, they hit me with the "we can't deliver, there's a recall" and vaguley mentioned the fuel-tank and spray-liner. This online thread is the only thing I can find that is remotely related to a recall that would effect my maverick, but there isn't an official recall according to the available recall channels...

I'm confused. Is this fuel tank recall about the sibl vendor drilling out material out of the bed drain holes and drilling into the fuel tanks of eb's. What hacks! Dealers have to drop tanks and inspect.

How would a spray in bedliner affect the fuel tank other than they sprayed it in the tank too?
Drilled out the excess material out of the bed drain holes and possibly into the top of the gas tank.

Still no recalls on Ford website and on Carfax, they changed the title from Fuel tank leak to Fuel tank inspection!

I just confirmed with my dealer this is a legit recall that affects my VIN, and that the issue is exactly as had been described - potential drill hole in fuel tank from clearing drain holes during spray-in Bedliner process.
They advised that it’s just an inspection at this point and there is no parts kit available. I assume that means that in the event they performed the fuel tank inspection and found a hole, they don’t yet have replacement fuel tanks available.
I did not schedule the inspection at this time and will wait until I receive an official notice from Ford.
Looks like Carfax was correct on this. I find it somewhat surprising that they were ahead of Ford in announcing this recall. After I spoke to the dealer, I logged into my Ford account and checked my VIN for recalls and it’s still showing “No Recalls” , which I now know is not correct.
