For a city only cruiser sure..... but, I want a more rounded anywhere eco cruiser where I dont have to wait on, or find, certain stations to fillup with "fuel". For me.... hybrid is the only way to go until the end of dino, then maybe.

Latest Motor Trend article has new details and two renderings that seem pretty accurate so far. Check it out:

Be interesting what actual final pricing is. They state RWD with optional AWD. Guessing $30k is a RWD XL so AWD XLT could be $40? Likewise they mention multiple battery sizes. It's going to be infinitely easier to guess the launch is Slate price, it's just one battery and one configuration. The options call all be after the sale. When there are options the $30k truck becomes marketing as most people will build up and likelihood that base units won't be available at launch? So you wind up with units north of $40k on the lot unless it's a special order. It'll be interesting to see how far apart a base price is of these trucks plus adding dealer markups to the Ford. I hope Ford can pull this off and it's a great product.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions. That having been said...

I'm quite impressed. If these renders are anywhere near the finished look of this prototype, Ford worked very, very hard at making the next iteration of Ranchero as ugly as possible.

Looks aside, I'm not the type to go for an EV until they're much more established. Mavbrid is as close as I plan to get for a while.

Really does not make sense to me for Ford to invest in making something more similar to the Santa Cruz, considering the low sales volume they experienced. Why not keep improving/upgrading the Maverick or just work at reducing the amount of ongoing recalls.
Ford is investing in low-cost EVs. This is merely the first vehicle they're offering on that platform.

I like the AI rendering game so here's my prompt to Gemini and it's guess:

Look up the spy photos of the new Ford EV truck and make an image of what that vehicle will look like based on the most current Ford design language.

Funny, looking at your AI rendering made me realize that Motor Trend's rendering features a conventional grille. That makes no sense for an EV, so that's probably wrong.

Because of the reflection at the very top right of the rendering's grille, I just assumed it was solid and textured/colored black, which there is precedent for... A few OEMs are trying to keep the conventional "look" - even though, to your point, the openings are not needed.

That said, if it isn't perfectly smooth, it looks like it would be a nightmare to clean bugs out of.

Now this rendering is probably closer to what Ford would put in production. The front end desgin seems familiar and ugly as :poop:. For a positive at least the wheels are a little better looking than the ugly ones we see on most EV's imo.
