I've seen a ton of washer nozzles clog and motors burn up because of the Rain X windshield washer fluid. All these washer tanks have screens in them nowadays and the Rain X brand is thick stuff. Gums up the hoses and screen until the washer pump over works itself and burns out. In a BMW you have to replace the whole washer tank as the pump is a complete until with the reservoir 🫠 go figure! Bring Money With'ya 🤣
I've used the orange premixed Rain X washer fluid for over 3 million miles with no issues and great results.

From my experience you've been very lucky 👍

I wondered about that, if it was some sort of solution doing the clogging. I always buy the cheap blue stuff.
Same. I treat the glass with regular Rain-X and just use the cheap blue stuff from Walmart.

On the other hand, I'm pretty fortunate to drive through mostly low-bug areas, so I just clean the windshield at a gas station. I use the windshield sprayers maybe twice a year.

Anything with Rain repelling might build up (dependant on concentration/environment) its usually Silicone Polymers that might build up and dry, causing clogs.

Sulfamic acid (grout cleaner) does a great job at scale removal.
Just don't let metal parts soak in it for a long period of time and rinse afterwards.

These are great points. I probably don't use the washers nearly as much as the OP, who is in lovebug country, and I use PIAA wipers that lay down a hydrophobic layer on the windshield similar to Rain-X.

I've used the Rain X for years too, and no problems! Even though that's their winter formula, it cleans summer bugs too!
Clogging usually ends up from minerals well water.
At least the premix should prevent that issue.

After 3 years , nozzle on passenger side was clogging up, replaced it with NZ6Z-17603-B, from dealer. Showed about $22.50 on line and $8.00 shipping from Lakeland Ford. Thought I'd go to my dealer( mullinex in Apopka ) and buy.
Got the part out and said $47.00, I asked if they matched internet price, he said NO.

The one I got was actually packaged from Lakeland Ford , go figure.

I bought it for I needed it. Got home ,replaced it , and drivers side was same way. Ordered 2 different kinds on Amazon ,here is the best one

$5.00 for a pair

Video shows ford one drivers side and amazon one pass. Side

Parts matrixing has been around since dealerships went on computers in the 80's.
Either setup by the parts manager or management company they can very quickly change gross percentages.
And yes the cheaper the part the higher
the precentage of markup!
Also independent repair facilities also markup parts they buy from dealers or jobbers. I've heard of doubling the price they pay to make a retail price!

It's a very hard thing for me to deal with when buying parts.
Make your dealer uneasy and ask them , what's the manufacture suggested retail price?
And why are you charging me more?
If you find a dealer that will treat you right, they might setup an account for you where they don't charge the markup.

When you find somebody good or bad, spead the word! That's how change happens, word of mouth!

Fill with filtered rain water or distilled water to prevent clogging with minerals.

You would think that since the Maverick washer nozzles are somewhat protected by being located under the rear lip of the hood, it would be less susceptible to clogging from external contaminates than a top-mounted nozzle. In my experience, clogged nozzles of any type usually are clogged by matter pushed through by the source (pump in this case) or build-up from inside rather than by external contaminates. That's just my experience though, I'm not saying that your pollen theory is impossible.
It's pretty thick here sometimes. Wash 1 day, covered next
