I’m sorry but a quick glance at the above videos showed me an F-150 operating well within its design parameters.

Going up the big steps, cake walk with a skilled driver.
Torture would have been doing that step climb with a half ton of cargo in the bed, at least.
Any 4x4 vehicle with enough ground clearance and chunky rubber could have done that with ease.

The mud puddle, really ?
How about pulling a 30 ft travel trailer through the mud puddle repeatedly, like a thousand times.

The last one, the hill climb. I do that almost daily with my Maverick on loose gravel and pot holes,
The F-150, the hill, lots of dust flying means nothing.
My climb is steeper, I crawl up in low at 1900-2,000 rpm and that is just in the turbo. It comes into play at 1800 rpm.

Put 10,000 pounds behind it and do 500 laps on the Cumberland Gap at WOT
LOL…. Your post reminds me of those old Ford vs Chevy commercials I used to see on TV growing up.

I want to see an F150 make that stair step climb with a Chevy Silverado straddled across the bed…

while I appreciate that they do torture testing, it has surprised me in how many creaks and rattles my truck has that never done anything nearly as hard as what these tests show.

Some rocks are worthwhile shelter, especially in case of girlfriends.....

I love Top Gear. I like to watch it on mute and deploy my own story line and narration.
Nice truck, the older Toyota's. Had a 1980 I bought new, solid axles front and back, 4X4, 20R engine if I remember correctly. Both my sons learned to drive on that rig and the oldest inherited it at age 19. Even he could not destroy it and he tried. I got it back when he got married and it was in a stage of FUBAR and TARFU, but ran fairly well. Sold it to a local high school kid. Saw him at the supermarket about 2 years later and he told me he had to replace clutch. Truck had 190K miles. Original clutch. The newer Toyota are nice and most likely last a very long time. But put them in that ocean salt water and watch what happens to the computers. Hahaha. If (and a big if ) Toyota builds a small Maverick sized competitor, there is a strong chance I will buy one. I've owned many, 2008 Tundra, 2002 Tundra, 2014 4Runner (still own), 2002 4Runner (V8), 3 Camrys, 2008 Venza, 1980 truck.

You can torture the test vehicles all you want, but if in the end you build the whole truck out of the lowest quality parts, it's still gonna fall apart

If I thought the Maverick was built with the LOWEST quality parts and was going to fall apart in a relatively short time and still bought one I would have to be a total moron. Thankfully I don't think that about my Maverick so I'm only a partial moron.

I give Ford credit, after a YouTube team found a problem with the Maverick on 3 rollers, Ford went back and fixed the problem for the 2026 model year. I have read that us 2025 owners are going to get the same software update for free. That is standing behind your product.

I guess I'll have to trade mine in on a 26 if I don't want to keep getting stuck on 3 rollers. But honestly, I watched the video and tried to think of a situation where 3 tires had no traction and the front right did and by having the front right with power, you can pull yourself out from a stop. I fail to see the value of the test or Fords' adjustment since these aren't rock crawlers and the AWD is activated by speed sensors. Nice that they did software to remedy it but I'd rather put effort into some other weak point. With that said, I do love my Maverick.

You ever heard of this mystical substance called ice? Or snow?

1 wheel traction is absolutely a thing.

Torture Tests are made to find potential defects. Maybe driving up and down concrete steps repeatedly tweaked the ball joint/control arm that is now involved in the recall?

I thought this only affects the AWD Hybrids ?

My future 1st wife bought a new 1980 Toyota pickup too. It came pre-rusted around the bed. Ran it over a railroad crossing and the suspension lost pieces. It continued to run until it wouldn’t pass inspection a few years later. Their rust issues also made it to a segment of 60 Minutes at the time.
The Hilux however is legendary.

They should test them better on getting rear ended. An under 30mph rear end accident shouldn’t have a $21k bill to repair.
