Check tire pressure, set to what it says.. this is overlooked a lot.

I was about to say this, my dealer didn’t let the extra air out of my tires.

Friday, I fly to Philly (will explain later) to pick up "Dirk 41" , (The Greatest Dallas Maverick Ever) and drive it back 1500 miles to Dallas.....well, not in one day. I drive fast but not that fast.

So what do I Inspect? What do I need to be on the lookout for? Been scared enough by the paint threads but those have died off. And the "my Mav broke down 8 feet out of the dealer lot" .....or the "blah blah blah".......talk everywhere on this forum.

Any ideas on things to check? I am usually not diligent on these things but if I have a list, I can follow it.

Simple. Dents, dings and scratches. Those won’t be warranty items when you drive off. Then a quick check of all functions. Windows, locks, lights, forward and reverse, brakes, wipers, does it start, you get the idea. And make sure things you don’t want and put on it. Dealer installed options. Oh. And lower the tire pressure before you leave. Comes in at 40psi or more. Will be quieter around 35.

Wondering what dealer you ordered thru?

I ordered mine thru Chapman Horsham and have a CD setup with Planet Ford in Dallas that should arrive within a couple weeks according to the Ford Tracker

1 hr flight down and 5 hr drive home

Same deal. They "forgot" to schedule the courtesy delivery. I wanted my truck. Flew up and got it.
20 minute drive home became an almost 24 hour drive home.

They over inflate tires in transport, 2 out of 3 Mavericks I owned were over inflated a lot, last truck l picked up was at 48, truck bounced around, knew what it was right away, fixed soon as I got home.

At the factory they over inflate tires for transport, when they perform PDI their sopose to set correct pressure, check oil, coolant, set clock, check AC, things like that before delivery.
