I don't think it's the dealer as I've called Ford Customer Service and they say they're putting it as urgent, but nothing to date.....I find it hard to believe they put them in new vehicles, and yet can't find one for a repair. I do say you might find shortages with other manufacturers, but this one here is where my experience is at. Never had it happen with any other vehicle. A week, o.k., even maybe two, but 2 months is what I call insane. When I was picking up my Maverick two days ago I was in the waiting room with a guy who was getting his vehicle back after a CV replacement. His wait time, 3 days total (bringing it in, ordering the part, replacement). This could be the dealer playing games.
I would call Ford Customer Service (https://www.ford.com/help/contact/) and check on that parts issue. OR ... call another Ford dealer in your area, state that you need a CV replacement and ask if you brought it in, how long would it take for them to get parts.
I certainly understand the frustrations as I have had my Mav in the shop for a month (both front struts and control arms replaced) but to think you are not going to see recalls, part shortages, etc. from ALL other manufacturers is insane.
