Guess that means you think America cannot compete- if that’s true we are dead either way because you don’t just compete in the U.S. as it’s a global economy and the most efficient and innovative win world wide. Then you end up like Russian manufacturing only what you can only sell here in an protectionist subsidized and tariff protected market- that doesn’t end well. America was built on ’ Laissez-faire let the markets decide’ which needs some controls but not full on protectionism forever- Thus, U.S. manufacturing needs even more wake up, -while Ford Skunkworks and other initiatives will help better position U.S. at some point (2030?)….. I think a Canadian style limited Chinese intro (say 100k vehicles/yr to start?) is in everyone’s best interest to further motivate. Good quality vehicles hitting the streets at $20-30k will introduce some urgency no tariff or protectionist policy will ever accomplish.
I couldn't have said it better. Thanks for honest facts. Lazy shortcuts and slow technology but quick to profit. We are once again behind the 8 ball and won't admit it or see it. Why all of the sudden we can no longer stand up to innovation and competition. Those vehicles are coming. They are in Europe, Mexico and Australia. Texans have brought the BYD Shark across the border and it is awesome tech even without consideration for price.

Doubt it finds a big following in that config. It would probably compete decently w the Maverick EB but I believe the Hybrid outsell EB like 2 to 1. I am not interested in trading a 35mpg average truck for a 26 mpg one - possibly if they had the Cherokee Hybrid power plant, but really waiting for an efficient range extender mid size.

How do you turn on the All Wheel Drive display?
On my '24 EcoBoost, it's buried in the menu for the displays. I didn't realize I had it until I'd had my Maverick nearly a year. If you have a hybrid with AWD, it must be a '25 or newer, so I imagine it's different than on my '24. It's called "Intelligent AWD Display," I think. I saw people talking about it here and thought I didn't have it, but eventually I found it.

I am not opposed to free market competition, but currently there is no ethical way for US companies to even get close to competing on cost with Chinese manufacturing. As a communist state, the Chinese government heavily subsidizes their manufacturing. In many cases, Chinese manufacturers get their land or even their facilities for free from the government. The subsides are so strong that Chinese companies are often able to sell products at a financial loss in order to dominate global markets and put westerners out of business.

This is all on top of the cases of child labor, slave labor, and relaxed or non-existent workplace safety regulations in China. PLUS Chinese companies steal IP and abuse copyright law regularly.

If we were a serious, moral society, we would have stopped any trade with China years ago. Instead, Western countries literally inject trillions of dollars importing Chinese product every year.
That is all true, but their tech is more advanced now. Look up the article were Farley talks about that. I'm glad he is watching.

I'm glad the Maverick is finally gonna get some much needed competition. That way if the Rampage becomes a success, it'll give Ford an excuse to keep improving on it. Plus, it'll be nice for buyers to have more than one compact truck to choose. It's been on its own for too long. Yes, the SC existed but it wasn't even considered a truck for Hyundai. It was an S.A.V., or Sports Activity Vehicle.

The only thing I like about it is it actually has buttons and switches for the AC and the other functions. The one thing I don't like about my Maverick is the same things (buttons and switches) but they are on the main screen and small sized.

I agree, we need all the competition we can get to keep the mfg on their toes. From what I can tell from limited pics the rampage interior is light years better than the mav. Maybe ford will up their game on the inside for the next refresh

. I always wanted to have a t-shirt with this on it.
FORD BUILDS TRUCKS,
the other guys just pickups.
Izuzu builds trucks. Low tech diesel workhorses too boring for N.A.
They thought they needed to make cars for the US…. That was a big mistake.

Santa Cruz no longer exists, unless you buy a used one.
Quick look and I see about 5k off for remaining Santa Cruz inventory. I guess Hyundai didn’t want to put them back on a boat (they’ll get cheaper).

My brother in law just got the Santa Cruz, new. Though he has had some dealer issues and a few fit and finish issues with his new vehicle. Luckily I haven't had these issues with my Maverick :)

Dodge/Ram/Chrysler vehicles aren't a company I'm interested in owning a vehicle from. Not a favorable opinion of GM either, with their current lineup.

At least 2 of my last 3 Ford vehicles are still in service, including the 97 F-150 I used to own. I sold my Taurus 23 years ago so it is probably not around anymore. That one needed an engine replaced when I owned it.
