Well, sure, the hybrid gets better MPG in mixed-mode (city+hwy) driving, but it costs more up front. Not sure what they are trying to illustrate here beyond that
My 2022 hybrid was standard, then it changed, now the hybris is standard engine once again.

I watched this video yesterday too. I was initially interested but ultimately felt the video was a bit hokey. As someone else mentioned, while both trucks were XLT’s, one had BAP and the other had a hard tonneau. I know they flipped the first panel of the tonneau up, but why not just take it off for the test? Plus the difference in wheel size is a real impact against the ICE engine Maverick. Then they compared price and neglected to take into account the hard tonneau included on the hybrid. They should have compared two identical trucks with either the same options or both being base XLTs.

Outside of the fuel economy, the hybrid has a couple of cool things. Remote start to bring the cabin to your desired temperature. And the eCVT is an engineering wonder. It should last 200k miles and is incredibly smooth.
EcoBoost have remote start also.....at least mine does lol

Is why the Ecoboost was chosen by this old gasser !

11:50-1153, Truth !

I want to feel a cars soul, a heartbeat.

To me the Mavbrid is a very efficient
Overpriced Golfcart.

Anybody remember the V-8 F-150’s of the 1970’s ?
The 1971, 74 and 75, Even the 1980 F-150 was a bad ass.
Especially if you had the balls to tell your wife, “We’re getting the 4X4”
And actually follow through with it.

Truck first,
Wife, they are replaceable.

Cherokee, I like you really like the ecoboost. On my recent trip to South Fork, CO. I had filled up with 91 octane Conoco gas and learned it has 30 better additives in it than most top tier gas.

Cherokee, I like you really like my ecoboost and I originally wanted a hybrid but in 2024 they didn’t have it in AWD. On a recent trip to South Fork I filled up with Conoco 91 octane top tier gas after reading a report that it uses 30% more of the top tier additives than most top tier gas suppliers. I had went approximately 15 miles and took a picture of my mpg reading, I actually got up to 40.3 at the 50 mile mark, and was still averaging over 38 at the 200 mile mark. I finished 1200 miles while averaging 36.8 mpg using Conoco gas only. I was stunned. I took a couple pictures on the way to show my results. I reset my mileage after my last fill up forgetting to take a final picture. But in almost 30,000 miles I’m averaging 30.5 mpg on my ecoboost. I added Eco, and sport modes with Forscan and deleted the stop/start feature and added Eco assist.
I’ve included some pictures with this reply. I always appreciate your input. Theses Mavericks are something special for sure.

Yeah, I don’t get why folks diss hybrid performance. I’m 65, coming off a V6
Frontier and my hybrid is plenty peppy. Besides, with all respect, if it’s performance, speed and power you want, most guys wouldn’t put any kind of Maverick atop their list.

22 eco, xl, 27000 miles, all a round, every day driving stays at 33.4-7. No complaints except I think what it would be like if gas was still 0.21 cents per gallon!

It would be impossible to ever save enough money to ever justify buying a hybrid vehicle!!!!

what what?

buy what you want, drive what you want, be happy with what you got. who cares what anyone else thinks of your ride? if they aren't paying for it, they get no say.

I dont feel like that many people diss hybrid acceleration....

Neither motor is slow ...but neither is fast

I think the EcoBoost has little more personality if that makes sense though

Some people dont care about that kind of stuff and look at vehicles as more of an appliance... that's cool too

I figured that the hybrid would have better fuel economy, and my assumption is that it would be more reliable over time than the turbo. Though I had a turbo for 134,000 miles on my BMW and never had any issues with that component.

I had a 22 EcoBoost and now I have a 25 hybrid. I can't tell a lick of difference in normal everyday driving. Both were AWD and I love them both. I do love the mpg's of the hybrid , especially now. I paid about $2000 more for the 25 hybrid than the 22 EcoBoost. I drive 35,000 to 40,000 a year. The EcoBoost did great on MPG's but the hybrid is crazy.

With the current prices, I'm incredibly happy i have a hybrid. Also, 191 horsepower is plenty for a truck that small, y'all can keep your ecoboosts -- I'll go buy a nice steak dinner with the money I'm saving 😆
Very true,
Now ya made me hungry !
