I researched your beloved Kroger.

Half the data available said their prices are 15% to 20% higher than other major chains. The other half said their prices run 12% to 15% higher than other chains.

Hate to break it to you, but you're paying $4 a gallon for gas one way or another.

Have a great day regardless.
Then we are in the better half, as well as knowing how to get great deals. Their discount coupons are extensive and attractive, and our store at least has sales all the time. I have compared their prices to the other major chain in our town (Food City) as well as Walmart and overall we do better than either of those (while still keeping our amazing gas plan). Believe me, if someone was more favorably priced I would change in a heartbeat, but after 16 years of Kroger shopping I have yet to find them in our area, or during the three months we spend our winters on the ocean.

Have a great day as well!

If Kroger survives? Are you serious? They are one of the most successful grocery chains in the country. And their gas program can be a loss leader for them and it would still be successful since it insures a lot of loyalty from their base. In our 16 years here we have never grocery shopped anywhere else, and we know many in that same boat.
good for you,if you check our ancient semi local Krogers the signs are there,Food Loin shut down the Krogers store that was 10 miles away, the one in fishersville closed, between foodloin,Aldi's and walmart times are closing in on kroger

the old school really loves Kroger, the semi local is very antiquated, the neighbor hood kroger in Covington shuts its door when food lion moved next door, what you have in Kroger are a loyal customer base, now they have to face DG market and even a stinkin Wallyworld market, judging from how nice the 2 semi local Krogers that were shut down they have their work cut out for them, shop were you like nothing is forever.

>> Maverick is kinda half-assed about everything

Wow. Just wow. I didn't realize my reliable, comfortable, affordable, highly equipped Maverick AWD was half-assed about everything. I'm gonna have to go out and have a talk with it about getting better. Maybe after these rain showers pass.

I know what I'll do. I'll tell it that it's heated seats and steering wheel, AWD, unlimited range, safety tech and rear seats have been declared socially unacceptable. And that I'm just going to have to cancel it.

That dang deplorable Maverick. What was I ever thinking buying one and getting 38,000 miles and 4 years of happy ownership from it? I am so humiliated by our shared inferiority. I think I'm going to cry now.
wish mine at least had cruise control.

probably need to charge them from time to time around the year 1900 if it wasn't horses it was electric delivery trucks intracity! The local dominoes loves their Chevy Volts, take heart EV haters, some of the big companies that produce a fair amount of Lorries make sure they are dumbed down to not out perform the diesels(that's a fact) Save the bias sojourners each has its niche, long range the gassers and oilers, short town delivery electric.( despite Teslas semi becoming more popular( at least Pepsico loves them)

The same kind of business decision made by companies every day here and around the world. Kroger is in business to make money; if those locations were lucrative enough they would still be open. Obviously they weren't.
same thing happened to Kmart.

We had a VCR in 1978.
Cost $1500

EV's will come down.
Yep. EVs are a hard sell a 80 grand, at 25, 30, 40 grand, they're great. Anyone who thinks it's not gonna happen doesn't understand how the marketplace works. When phones came out, they were literally bricks and adjusted for inflation, they were something like 8 grand, like an insane number.

T.V.s used to be extremely expensive. Now you can buy a high quality 80 inch TV for well under a grand.

Look out all the vehicles available and there's no XLT, Lariat or Tremor option with the 2.0l
Thanks for the link. I notice though there are trucks and SUVs that are not available in the USA. I'm guessing Ford De Mexico eliminated the ecoboost Maverick to sell more Wolf or Lobo ICE trucks. Just a theory.

The fancy entertainment store back in the day I saw my 1st large screen… plasma 55” for $35,000.00 by Pioneer. Today Walmart LED 55” was $197 (obviously not a Pioneer).
My dad had a 35” TUBE Zenith… yikes!

You know that Walmart bought Vizio back in 2024, right?

HRG
no fooling? there was a science fiction story one time about a planet we where invading, the tricked the local butterfly people into painting there wings with toxic bright colored paint an elder gave up and committed suicide by crashing into the jungle fire,it seems the young of the butterfly people were actually voracious larva that consumed everything in site,by our divine right we thought we could colonize that planet without regard for the natives, another Manhatten deal I suppose it just illustrated the power of vanity and "baubles".
