Perhaps my circumstances are unique, perhaps not.
When looking for a new vehicle, I needed:
  • A truck with a bed - I carry lots of stuff that I don't want to put in a trailer
  • Good MPGs - The more the better
  • AWD - Where I live folks have AWD / 4WD or they may have to walk home
  • Ability to tow a decent sized water trailer - No one here has municipal tap water
  • An affordable price
The 25 Mav hybrid fits the bill in all categories. Actually, it may be about the only vehicle that does.

To drive to the "local" post office is ~ a 12 mile round trip.
Today I drove there and back. Reset Trip 1 when I got in, snapped the pic before I got out.

Nearly 55 mpg's on a round trip with the capabilities to do everything this truck can do is nothing short of amazing. My wife's Honda Accord is lucky to get 30mpgs on the same trip.

The MY 25 was the first year that combined the ability to get a hybrid with AWD and the 4K tow capability.

If there's another then I'd be glad to know. But I agree otherwise; basically nothing else can tow 4k, seat 5 passengers in a pinch, get 37+mpg, has AWD, and has a pickup bed.

I think even the FWD hybrid is a fantastic value. 38mpg, factory rated to tow 2k, seats five, and has a bed. I don't think any other vehicle comes close.

I agree, but I don't know what I don't know, therefore I can't state that no other vehicle with the same ability exists. If it does, they are doing a great job hiding it, and I'm not looking.

I love my '24 Mav hybrid for all the reasons you mentioned. Mine is FWD. I find its fine in the NY snow. Maybe sligthly better MPG than the AWD. I got an ARE cap for the bed. I think its perfect for me.

You left out one thing - the Maverick Hybrid is towable on its own wheels - I bought a 2026 XLT AWD with 4k tow package to replace the Jeep Wrangler I've been towing for years behind my RV. Huge improvement in comfort, mileage, carrying capacity, and more yet it weighs just about the same as the Jeep - around 3800 pounds.

The reason you found a vehicle that fit your needs, is because of forums like this. All of us early buyers of the then new truck from Ford, started to post all the features this truck needed to be the "Greatest Small Truck Ever"! you waited until all the boxes were checked off before ordering yours. Sometimes it pays to be patience, I could'nt wait that long.

That is a benefit for some, especially those that want to tow behind an RV, but not something I was in "need" of.
Actually, since it can be flat towed, does it need to be towed on a flat bed at all?
Time to look at the manual so I don't get a RTFM from Carlos.. ...

Edit:
The manual has a section on towing by the vehicle and the ability to flat tow behind an RV, but if the vehicle NEEDS to be towed when disabled, all it says is:
EMERGENCY TOWING
If you need to tow your vehicle, contact a professional towing service or, if you are a member of a roadside assistance program, your roadside assistance service provider.

So,
Obviously it's safe to tow any vehicle on a flatbed, but without the ability to turn on the HEV tow option (like a battery is dead) there is nothing to indicate how the Mavbrid should be towed.
I'm thinking it's flatbed all wheels off the pavement only.

In my case that is true.
I was poking around the forum shortly after when I first saw a Maverick on the road.

I couldn't wait that long either for Ford to develop a Hybrid AWD 4K , so in 2023 I bought a Ecoboost XLT AWD with 4K tow and I think it's great.

Our 25MY Mav Hybrid is a wonderful Toad. My previous 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid was also. The one vehicle that checks All the boxes for us.

Couldn't agree more with why I chose a 26 hybrid with AWD and 4K. Had a Ram 1500 which I loved but I wasn't using it's capability often enough to justify the cost of gas every month when it was mainly used to go from work and back. Also, realized one day that I was the only one in the vehicle 95% of the time.

Found a Maverick that fit the bill and cut my monthly gas cost in half easily, if not a little more.

@Kyle_808 -
I've had several trucks over the years with a standard sized bed, and I hardly ever needed all that room. With the Mav's flex bed, even large items can be accommodated.
Some may view it as a compromise, but I don't.

Especially with gas prices the way they are, a full sized pickup doesn't make sense for me either.
I have several other vehicles, but the Maverick is my favorite. I like it more every time I drive it.

Wanted a US made Hybrid AWD that could cover/secure hauled items in the bed, good traction in winter, provide 4 doors, still get great mileage, and finally.... be easy for my wife (and me too😉) to get in/out and drive/park around town easily.

..... now if it just holds up as a Ford product!

I think the sales figures pretty much settled the argument over the Maverick. A half million sold so far, and going strong, even with a 30% price hike? It's safe to say that whatever any of us thinks about the Maverick, 130,000+ people a year like it enough to buy it.
