Mobil-1 oil, filter + STP air filter < $40

Saw this in my local Autozone flyer. Daughter's 25 XLT due for an oil change, and my 25 Lariat isn't that far behind. Think I'll pick up 2 sets and also some extra 0-20 full synthetic to top it off (2.5 hybrids take about 5.5 qts). Air filter looks easy to change as it's just behind the glove box.

Nice, I would load up on the oil for future use. Cabin filter chg is easy! I not familiar with the quality of the stp engine air filters, that would be my only ? mark but if ya chg them often probably not any big deal. I got too old to do that stuff nowadays but did for many years so I sorta out of the loop on all that now

If it matters to you, neither of those meet the Ford specs for a Hybrid Maverick.

The 2022-2025 Hybrid is WSS-M2C962-A1 while the 2026 is WSS-M2C972-A1

FWIW, while the cabin filter is easy to change (the one behind the glove box), it's also easy to break-off the filter door release tabs, located on the sides. Do it in warmer weather if possible, and don't move the tabs any further than you need to.

And if ya break em, Duct tape will hold it shut just fine till the next filter goes in. No one will see it.
Duct tape went on every Apollo and Shuttle mission, remember that.

Does anyone know why the oil specification is different for 25 vs 26 models of hybrid?

I think 72 is basically a new generation spec that will supersede 62. Probably with slightly different additives and performance requirements.

When I last bought oil, they had a mix of each spec on the shelf. It looked like they were phasing out 62.
