Received the following message from Mobil 1 today:

There are two engines in the 2022 Ford Maverick, 2.0L and 2.5L.

Both call for the Mobil1 M1-102A Oil Filter

I guess both engines take the same filter...

But that is just a guess :)

I don't know, that's a risky assumption.

Thinking out loud. Using the recommended Ford Oil filter seems like the safest choice.

Someone posted the release pressure check valve is different on some of cross referenced oil filters. Internal to the filter.

Seems to me this would be kinda important.

Plain and Simple - NOT everyone will use the Motorcraft oil, and some will use Mobil 1 - Then the Mobil 1 oil filter M1-102A is the filter needed.

Just trying to help - if not information for you - THEN MOVE ON!

You have peaked my curiosity. Are you claiming if you use a certain brand of oil then you must also use a certain brand of filter?

Inquiring minds want to know. Not trying to stir any shiz up or anything here.

Not helpful, but thanks.
BTW, I made no mention of my filter preferences.

NO - You can use a paper bog if you want

NO - You don't have to use a certain brand of oil filter with an oil change, but I do. I have used Mobil 1 for several years now and "might" use in the Mav.

Just trying to give a little bit of information that I received when inquiring about the proper "recommended" Mobil 1 oil filter.

Never thought this one small post would lead too so much negativity and whiny comments.

AGAIN - If the information is not an interest to you, THEN MOVE ON and don't bombard the poster with crappy replies!

Mobile 1 wins most filter comparisons. Fiberglass media is best.
