Roof racks: DEMAND vs supply

There has to be DEMAND!
I have seen many post here (myself included) about roof racks and other associated inquiries about how to carry longer stuff.

After emailing more than a dozen rack companies, I got the same responses: It's a new truck, and we haven't seen much if any demand for it yet.

Conclusion: We gotta start emailing, calling, getting the word and DEMAND OUT.
In my opinion, this is the biggest FLAW with the Maverick: not offering basic roof rails to mount anything on. Let alone a full factory rack.

If you don’t mind drilling a few holes, how about starting by seeing what’s under the black plastic strips on the roof. I just can’t bring myself to start prying it up as I’ll most likely ruin it. But someone without fear…

That’s a good inexpensive option, I am hoping for something a bit more secure that doesn’t rely on the door jamb sheet metal.

That's how the yakimas on the ford accessories page attach. Not really worried about it.

My build date is a week of 01/24/2022, and my birthday is 01/24 . I.m planing on adding insulation (dynamat) on roof. Any way will be taking headliner off, so i don't mind drilling if everything measure up.

I've used Thule for all my vehicles, and more recently the EVO system on my 2020 Honda Civic. I'm planning on getting this setup for my Maverick in the next few days as they've recently released a Maverick specific fit kit (Model 145286).

I use it to hold my Thule cargo box to hold our Snowboards and gear, as the box is too short to hold them. Plus, I'm a sucker for roof racks!

Never had issues with having it secure to the door jambs on any other car/SUV.

I wouldn't be surprised if Prinsu starts offering a rack in the coming year. I see them EVERYWHERE now. I swear that most people that get them don't even use them and put them on for looks.

since there aren't any rain gutters on mine so unless we have different mavericks, I don't see attaching it like that shows. And I don't think it will work in the door jamb as it slopes upward.

Don’t pry it! According to this thread:

It’s bolted from underneath and you have to pull at least some of the headliner to get to it’s mounting. That’s the bad news, but the good news is that apparently the holes already there for that trim may be usable for other racks easily.

You are entitled to think what you want, but I have actually had them mounted and they fit! The kit has three different sets of mounting brackets and one works exactly right.

But hey, I was just giving options.

Similar to what I had imagined I have decided to make mine and have it anodized. Because of the amount of snow I get into I am building them so there is about three inches between the bottom of the rack and the roof.
